Chapter 10 - He Wanted Hu YuJiao To Be Gone (1)

As Hu YuJiao watched Chi YunChen leaving with Su Man-er in his arms and how worried he was, Hu YuJiao’s fingers tightened around each other. She was bleeding inside.

Her eyes flicked. Suddenly, her eyes closed, and she collapsed onto the ground.

Li CuiHua, witnessing that, shouted out, “YuJiao passed out! She passed out!”

Those around them might not like what Hu YuJiao had done today and thought she was an evil person, but now that she had passed out in front of them, some of those from the crowd still walked up to help her up.

Li CuiHua, seeing that Chi YunChen had no intention to stop and check on Hu YuJiao, frowned and shouted, “Chi YunChen, did you hear what I’ve said? I said YuJiao had passed out! Are you not going to do anything about it?”

Chi YunChen paused in his track, turned around, and gave the “passed out” Hu YuJiao a look. His face turned even colder briefly. “No!”

The weakened Su Man-er struggled to look over in Hu YuJiao’s direction.

Oh? That Hu YuJiao was so fragile that she passed out? Tsk, tsk, she was probably faking it.

“You heartless bastard! YuJiao is part of your family. What do you mean you aren’t going to check on you? Is that how it is going to be? You don’t care about YuJiao anymore now that you have a wife? What about all the years that YuJiao had slaved at your house? Now you are just going to kick her to the curb because of that Su Man-er? You are heartless! Animal!”

Li CuiHua continued to shout. Really she was just taking the opportunity to shout at him.

Chi YunChen’s look turned more somber. He didn’t respond, only looked over at Hu YuJiao venomously.

He wasn’t an idiot. He could tell right away whether YuJiao had passed out for real or not.

The rest of the crowd, listening to Li CuiHua’s abusive words, also felt that she had gone a little too far.

What did she mean by “slaving at”? Hu YuJiao certainly had helped out here and there at the Chi’s, but nothing labor-intensive at all, alright? All the labor-intensive tasks were taken care of by Chi YunChen or his older sister-in-law.

Plus, they had been taking care of her room and board and sending her to school. Had Chi YunChen ever said a word about that? No, they haven’t.

Anyway one looked at it, the Chi YunChen and his family were the benefactors of Hu YuJiao. How was it that coming from Li CuiHua, it had been twisted to a point that they had taken advantage of Hu YuJiao and had been using her like their maid.

After a round of shouting, Li CuiHua felt much better. Her hands on her waist, she was about to start her second round.

Meanwhile, a centipede that was longer than a finger suddenly crawled over onto Hu YuJiao.

The centipede crawled up next to her neck, then, following her collar, started crawling inside of it.

The villager who was propping Hu YuJiao up was startled and immediately let go of her. “Centipede! Centipede! There’s a centipede!”

It’s no joke being bitten by a centipede. One could get poisoned from that!

Hu YuJiao also felt something crawling up on her. When she heard that it was a centipede, her chest tightened, and her eyelashes flickered.

She had assumed that one of the villagers would remove it for her.

But…

She waited for 5 to 6 seconds, and nobody stepped up to help her out.

Finally, gritting her teeth, she sat up all of a sudden and started patting herself all over trying to locate the centipede.

The villagers saw her waking up suddenly, their first reaction was a little surprise, but then they immediately realized that Hu YuJiao didn’t really pass out. She was just faking it the entire time.

All the villagers looked at her with contempt in their eyes and took a few steps back from her.

This Hu YuJiao was such a despicable and sinister person. She even pretended to have passed out! Why was she so manipulative? How was she so shameless?

Li CuiHua’s mouth twitched. She looked at Hu YuJiao dumbfounded. She hadn’t expected Hu YuJiao to fake passing out.

As he watched how Hu YuJiao had suddenly “woken up”, Chi YunChen’s eyes darkened and were filled with derision.

Hu YuJiao was able to locate the centipede quickly. She threw it down on the ground and stomped on it.

The centipede had already found its way to her chest area. Luckily, she was able to pull it out just in time. It would have been bad had she been bitten by it.

Problem was….

After she had stomped on the centipede, she looked around to those standing around her. Everybody was looking at her with contempt in their eyes. Her chest tightened, and her heart also skipped a beat.

She wanted to explain herself but she couldn’t come up with anything.

She knew that no matter what she said, they’d pale given the situation.

Her good reputation was gone completely this day.
