Chapter 46

Who knows whether the side effects would be as great as he thought they would be?

What if he took the potion in the wrong direction, whereby it would kill him instead of turning him back into a hamster?

Even though he had finished making the potion, An Yan was hesitant to drink it.

But even if he didn't drink it, he didn’t want to part with it either, especially since the potion contained the essence of almost all the foods he liked to eat. So, wouldn’t it be a waste if he didn’t drink it?

But what if something happened to him if he drank it?

An Yan rolled all over the bed until after eight o'clock in the evening, when he gritted his teeth and made his decision.

Even if he didn't drink now, he would have to drink it later, so he might as well give it a shot. Maybe he would get what he wanted.

With this in mind, An Yan rolled over and took the potion from the table. He unscrewed the lid and drank it with a resolute gulp.

After finishing the potion, An Yan smacked his lips. Although there were many of his favourite foods in it, the potion was not really tasty.

But it didn't matter how good it tasted, what mattered was whether the potion would work or not.

An Yan's mood at this moment was similar to that time when he had taken the Transformation Pill. There was a mixture of anticipation, nervousness, and, inevitably, worry.

He looked down at his hands and counted silently in his heart, yet ten seconds passed, a minute passed, five minutes passed ...... hands were still hands. His feet were still feet, he was still in his human state.

So did he fail?

Although the result was not unexpected, An Yan still felt frustrated. It was as if he had suddenly lost his way, leaving him unsure of where to go.

It doesn’t matter. In fact, it's fine to be a human even if he can't turn back into a hamster. An Yan comforted himself, but he couldn't get rid of the feeling of loss.

At that moment, there was a sudden knock on the door of the dormitory from outside.

An Yan's heart thumped. According to reason, most of the students should have gone home by now. He was not familiar with any students except Cheng Yang.  So who would come knocking at this time?

As An Yan's thoughts continued to wander, he heard a familiar voice from outside.

"Yan Yan, it's me." That voice was clearly Cheng Yi's.

While An Yan was relieved, he became even more puzzled. He remembered that Cheng Yi had left the academy. How could he be back now?

He hurriedly got up from the bed and opened the door. He was about to ask Cheng Yi a question when he suddenly felt a heat in his body; something was wrong.

Before An Yan could react to what was wrong, a white light suddenly appeared on his body. After the white light, all the clothes he was wearing fell to the floor.

Immediately afterwards, a small ball burrowed underneath his clothes for awhile before finally finding a gap and emerging, revealing a pair of dazed bean eyes.

Cheng Yi watched as his little one suddenly disappeared right in front of him, and then a hamster crawled out of the little one's pile of clothes?

What was this situation?

Cheng Yi's face appeared close to cracking for the first time, and his brain went blank for a moment.  He found it hard to accept and understand the situation that was happening in front of him.

An Yan was able to react before him.

His first reaction was that the potion had actually worked.

The second reaction was, "But why did it take so long for the potion to work?" He thought it had failed.

The next reaction was, It's over! He transformed after opening the door, so Cheng Yi must have seen him transform into a hamster!

The last reaction was, "I'm going to be roasted and eaten!"

The soft and chubby hamster instantly became stiff. Was it too late for him to close the door?

Worse still, he couldn't even close the door if he wanted to due to his current state!

No way! Hamsters never give up!

After carefully thinking about all the possible scenarios, An Yan decided to run for his life first.

He tightened his paws, stirred up his hind legs and puffed up his cheeks. He was about to flee to the bottom of the bed in one go when he was lifted by a large hand that squeezed the soft flesh at the back of his neck.

An Yan desperately struggled to move his claws, but it was still difficult to escape the clutches of the devil’s claws.

With such a disparity between him and the enemy, An Yan could only give up, even if he did not want to resign himself to his fate. As soon as the tension in his claws and paws loosened, his head dropped and he played dead.

Cheng Yi brought the little hamster up to his eyes with an extraordinarily complicated expression. He carefully observed it for a moment before speaking in an extremely uncertain voice, "Yan Yan?"

The hamster's body stiffened, but immediately relaxed again, looking as if it had suddenly twitched.

Cheng Yi was very shocked at first. He only asked his brother for the door card to the dormitory because he was worried about An Yan, and he came back to the academy to check on the situation.

He completely did not expect to be greeted by a scene like this once the door opened.

The little one turned into a tiny hamster right in front of him.

For a moment, he even thought that he was hallucinating or that he was simply dreaming, but the reality was right in front of him.

With his superb mental strength, Cheng Yi was forced to quickly accept this reality that he didn't know how to describe. He then began to take a serious look at the little guy who had turned into a hamster.

It was so small that it didn't even look the size of his palm, but when he lifted it up and looked at it closely, he saw that the hamster had quite a lot of flesh on its body. It was soft and easy to touch.

What was even more interesting was the reaction of the little guy.  He probably had a hard time accepting this sudden and terrible fact, and his body was stiff.

It was only when he was lifted up that the little guy struggled. But he soon went limp again, as if he had resigned himself to his fate.

Cheng Yi couldn't help chuckling. Sure enough, even if he had turned into a hamster, his little one was still as cute as ever.

Once he accepted that his little one had turned into a hamster, he felt a sense of contentment just looking at him.

At that moment, his mind even started to think of how to take care of this cute little hamster.

Cheng Yi was happy. He thought that it would be a wonderful experience.

In just a few minutes, Cheng Yi's state of mind had undergone a lot of changes, and finally rested on anticipation and pleasure.

He carefully placed the little one carefully on his palm, closed the door of the room, and then carried him inside: "Don't be afraid, Yan Yan. I will protect you."

The hamster, who was playing dead, couldn't help but twitch his two little ears when he heard these words. Cheng Yi said he would protect him instead of roasting and eating him.

Cheng Yi's eyes swept around the dormitory and soon settled on the empty potion bottle on the bedside table. He held An Yan in one hand and picked up the test results next to the potion bottle with the other, frowning slightly, "So Yan Yan turned into a hamster after drinking this bottle of potion?"

Once he was certain that Cheng Yi was not planning to eat him, An Yan regained his vigour and slowly sat up from his palm, sitting his butt on the palm.

Cheng Yi's gaze flickered slightly as he lowered his eyes to look at the little one sitting obediently in his palm, his heart suddenly softening.

But when he thought of the test results, he immediately tightened his face and said in a serious tone, "If I'm not mistaken, the test results say that the side effects are very huge? How dare Yan Yan drink such a discarded potion?

An Yan, who had just relaxed, immediately tensed up again, and his two little ears twitched slightly.  He had only been thinking about turning back into a hamster and hadn't seriously considered the other serious consequences that might exist.

Cheng Yi's eyes were fixed on the hamster in his palm. The tip of his index finger poked the hamster's soft belly twice: "How does Yan Yan feel now? Is there anything uncomfortable? "

An Yan shook his head with a guilty conscious. Although he realised that he had acted too rashly before, he had to admit that he was in really good shape!

Cheng Yi sighed in relief, but still couldn't completely put his mind at ease.

The side effects of discarded potions are very strange. The test results only said that the side effects were very great, but there was no specific description at all.  Only after a thorough physical examination of the little one could the exact results be obtained.

Cheng Yi quickly made a decision at that moment, "Yan Yan, I must take you for a thorough physical examination."

An Yan hurriedly spoke up, wanting to tell Cheng Yi that his current health condition was really good and that he did not need to worry at all, let alone do a physical examination.

But the sound he made was, "Squeak ...... squeak ...... squeak squeak squeak!"

Cheng Yi laughed outright and couldn't help but run his fingers over the little one's soft body. It felt surprisingly good, so he couldn't resist stroking it a second and third time......

An Yan was stroked so much that his body tilted and fell back into Cheng Yi's hand. He was a little confused for a while: "Squeak....." What are you pushing me for?

Cheng Yi laughed even louder, An Yan had never seen him laugh like that before, so he couldn't help but look a little dumbfounded.

After laughing for a while, Cheng Yi said, "I don't understand what you mean when you squeak like that."

Only then did An Yan remember that he had turned back into a hamster and could not communicate with humans.

After thinking for a moment, he crawled up from Cheng Yi's palm and tapped on the shrunken light brain on his wrist a few times.  When he saw that it didn't respond, he stretched out his little paw to reach the light brain on Cheng Yi's wrist.

Cheng Yi immediately understood and opened his light brain. He also thoughtfully adjusted the input interface and switched to handwriting mode.

An Yan then stretched out his two little paws and vigorously drew on Cheng Yi's light brain screen.

Soon, a crooked sentence appeared.

[I feel fine now; I don't need a physical examination.]

Cheng Yi vetoed without even thinking: "No, a body check is a must. You don't have to worry; I won't take you directly to the hospital. I have a complete set of physical examination equipment at home."

An Yan wanted to insist when he heard Cheng Yi continue, "The problem now is not only your physical condition, but also how long your current state will last.  How can we restore you to your human form? Do you want to appear before others in your current state?"
