Chapter 49

It was already late when Cheng Yi returned to his room with the little one in his pocket. The little hamster was already sleepy after being tossed and turned a number of times.

Cheng Yi said to An Yan, “I’m going to take a bath. Do you want to join me?”

An Yan thought for a moment and nodded his head obediently.

Although the weather was slowly turning cooler and he didn’t feel hot now, he must have sweated a lot after tossing and turning for so long. It was better to take a bath so that he could sleep more soundly and comfortably.

After all, this was not his own home, so it would be impolite to remain dirty.

Cheng Yi’s gaze flickered slightly, then he took out a small cotton handkerchief from a drawer and carried the little one into the bathroom.

It had never occurred to Cheng Yi to give a hamster a bath, but he was now looking forward to it with excitement.

Although the little one was in the form of a hamster, Cheng Yi would not let go of the rare opportunity to share a bath.

Instead of finding a small tub to bathe An Yan in, he placed him on the sink and then unbuttoned his shirt in front of him.

This scene suddenly broke into An Yan’s beady eyes, causing him to turn his back and face Cheng Yi with his little bottom in surprise.

Cheng Yi’s actions seemed natural and casual, but they were in fact deliberate. He didn’t know whether to cry or laugh at An Yan’s reaction.

Was the little one too shy, or was his body not good enough to catch the little one’s eye?

The hot water in the bathtub was almost full by the time Cheng Yi had put off all his clothes. He gently lifted the little one and sat in the bathtub.

An Yan stirred his little legs in reflex when he was being lifted, and then, he hit something hot and hard.

An Yan was too scared to move. He looked down and found that he had stomped on Cheng Yi’s hot, sturdy chest.

“Don’t move. I’ll help you take a bath.” Cheng Yi gently pinched the back of An Yan’s neck and spoke with a smile.

The two were so close at that moment that An Yan could even feel the vibrations of Cheng Yi’s chest. He felt his face get hot, and his head was on the verge of smoldering.

Luckily, there was a fine fluff covering his face, otherwise he would have been humiliated.

Cheng Yi found a comfortable position to lie down in the bathtub and placed An Yan on his abdomen.

His abdomen was submerged in the water, but the water was not too deep. It was just right for An Yan, a small hamster, to move freely.

Although this arrangement seemed to make sense in theory, An Yan always felt that something was not quite right.

The water in the bathtub would float back and forth once Cheng Yi made the slightest movement.  Although An Yan’s two short legs were resting against Cheng Yi’s stomach, he couldn’t stand steadily and could only sway back and forth with the waves.

So, objectively speaking, he was now stepping on Cheng Yi’s stomach, and sometimes he would even fall on top of it.

What was even more embarrassing was that he had to keep a tight rein on his eyes, otherwise he might see something he shouldn’t if he wasn’t careful!

However, Cheng Yi did not seem to notice his embarrassment. His eyes were half closed, as if he might fall asleep at any moment.  He looked very comfortable.

An Yan felt extremely embarrassed, but he had no intention of disturbing Cheng Yi. He could only endure silently and try to stabilise his body.

However, Cheng Yi would adjust his position in the bathtub every now and then, causing An Yan to helplessly fall backwards and forwards. In no time at all, his whole body was soaked through.

Just when An Yan could not stand it anymore and was considering whether to squeal to Cheng Yi to wake him up, Cheng Yi finally opened his eyes slowly. He extended his hands to the pitiful An Yan.

“Yan Yan, let me help you with a little shower gel.” Cheng Yi said this while holding An Yan in his palm. He used his other hand to dab some body wash and gently rubbed it on An Yan’s fat, soft body.

At first, An Yan felt uncomfortable, but hamsters are not as vigilant as humans. He was not so sensitive or wary of being rubbed. Therefore, with the right amount of force and strokes that covered every part of his body, An Yan was soon immersed in this comfort.

Mmm, so comfortable. I want to sleep so badly…..

In his drowsiness, An Yan suddenly felt a certain part of his body being gently grasped, startling him into waking up.

“Squeak…… squeak squeak squeak!” No, everywhere else was fine, but you can’t touch there, okay!

The hamster had a rare moment of wariness. His attitude seemed fierce and his little paws were stirring frantically.

Cheng Yi immediately let go and said apologetically, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to. I just wanted to help you clean your body. “

Although An Yan was indeed shocked by what had just happened, he figured that Cheng Yi certainly couldn’t have done it on purpose. Besides, his apology was really sincere.

 An Yan, who had been all fried up, instantly felt like he had overreacted.

He slowed down and patted Cheng Yi’s fingertips with his little paw to show that he didn’t care.

Cheng Yi visibly sighed in relief, “Thank you, Yan Yan, for forgiving me. Let me help you rinse off. “

An Yan nodded and obediently stretched out his body, raising his little paws so that Cheng Yi could help rinse the foam off his body.

After rinsing, Cheng Yi wrapped An Yan in the small soft handkerchief and put him on the counter.

He wanted to slow down, but even if he did, the little one wouldn’t give him a second glance.

After rinsing, Cheng Yi put on his bathrobe and walked out of the bathroom with An Yan in his arms.

“Looks like we’ll be sleeping in the same bed tonight.” Cheng Yi spoke with a smile.

An Yan subconsciously lifted his little head and looked at the big bed placed against the window. He squeaked and patted Cheng Yi’s wrist with his little paw.

Cheng Yi sat down on the edge of the bed and adjusted the interface of his light brain before pushing it in front of An Yan.

An Yan gestured with his little paw for awhile, finally writing out two lines smoothly.

[It doesn’t matter if I don’t sleep on the bed. You can lay a mat on the table and I’ll just sleep there.]

Although the bed looked big, soft and comfortable, as a poor hamster who was taken in, he wouldn’t force himself to do so.

Besides, he was so small that he could sleep anywhere.

Cheng Yi, however, shook his head, “It’s better to sleep on the bed. You’re so small that you can’t even occupy a foot of the bed. “

An Yan thought about it for a moment. It seemed to be true, so he nodded his head happily.

It was better to sleep on a big soft bed than on a table.

Once upon a time, before he became human, he had never slept in a bed, let alone felt that there was anything wrong with sleeping on straw.

But now that he had been a human for awhile, he even disliked the table. In human terms, it was really hard to go from extravagancy to frugality.

Cheng Yi put away the light brain screen and used a soft handkerchief to carefully wipe away the water droplets left on An Yan’s body, making sure the fur was half dry before he stopped and laid him down on the quilt.

Cheng Yi looked down at An Yan: “I’m going to pour a glass of water. Do you want some?”

Anyan shook his little head, “Squeak, squeak.” No, thanks.

Cheng Yi nodded his head. He poured a glass of ice water and took a few sips.

He wasn’t really thirsty. It was just that he felt so hot and dry after the bath he had just taken with the little one that he couldn’t suppress the fire in his body.

Drinking the iced water only helped a little. When he turned around and saw the little one who was rolling around on the bed, the heat doubled.

Cheng Yi sighed in resignation and put down the glass of water before going back to bed. An Yan also immediately assumed a proper posture and sat down, as if it wasn’t him who was rolling on the bed just now.

Cheng Yi felt amused but did not expose him. He directly lifted the blanket and laid down on the bed.

An Yan was placed on a pillow, and a soft handkerchief was taken as his quilt.

An Yan was very happy with this arrangement and quickly closed his eyes as he wrapped himself in the blanket.

However, before he could fall asleep, his soft tummy was poked through the quilt.

An Yan slowly opened his beady eyes and turned his little head to meet Cheng Yi’s deep but unusually bright eyes.

“Squeak?” Is there something wrong?

Cheng Yi looked at An Yan intently and said, “If Yan Yan feels uncomfortable anywhere while sleeping, make sure to tell me immediately, understand?”

An Yan was touched to the core and nodded his little head seriously, “Squeak, squeak squeak.” I know. Thank you, senior.

But he’s really fine now. He’s definitely not uncomfortable.

 An Yan fell into a deep sleep after a short while.

But Cheng Yi, who was sleeping beside him, could not fall asleep. His heart was beating hard, as if it was about to burst out of the confines of his chest.

He had never been excited. It was as if a fire was burning inside his body, getting hotter and hotter and burning him more and more.

Unable to sleep, Cheng Yi simply opened his eyes and stared at An Yan in the dim light for a long time.

At first, he just wanted to take this opportunity to look at the little one more and to calm down his uncontrollable excitement, but soon, his expression slowly turned serious.
