Chapter 81

After talking about business, Grandpa Cheng looked at the time and lamented, "It's almost time for lunch. Speaking of which, it seems like I haven't eaten with you guys for a long time. "

An Yan followed suit and looked at the time on Grandpa Cheng's light brain. The little hamster instantly exploded when he noticed the numbers displayed on it.

It was already almost eleven o'clock!

But I haven't gone home yet!

Mom must be so worried! Ahhhh!

Several horrible thoughts flashed through An Yan's head, and in his desperation, he scurried straight into Cheng Yi's arms: "Squeak, squeak, squeak!" Hurry up, hurry up, I want to go home!

Cheng Yi also realized the problem. After holding the little one steady, he immediately said goodbye to Grandpa Cheng and took the little one back to his room.

An Yan didn't even have time to say goodbye to Cheng Yi. He scurried out of the house and ran furiously back to his own home.

An Yan hurriedly changed back to his human form on returning to his room, quickly got dressed and ran downstairs. Then he saw his mother sitting calmly in the living room, eating lunch and watching TV at the same time.

An Yan, who had been anxious moments before, was immediately confused by the scene before him. It seemed that his mother hadn’t realized he wasn’t home.

An Yan breathed a sigh of relief.  Just then, his mother turned her head at the sound of movement and said, with an exceptionally calm and meaningful expression, "Yan Yan finally knows when to come back?"

"Well, I just..." An Yan’s words came to an abrupt halt. Wait, what did he just hear?

So mom knew I wasn't at home?

Then how come mom didn't seem worried at all? She had even started eating lunch alone.

An Yan was confused and puzzled for a moment, and even began to wonder if he had just heard something wrong.

An Mu sighed at her son's dazed and confused look and said helplessly, "If you want to go find Cheng Yi, just go straight there. I won't stop you. "

She had noticed her son acting strangely, and was a little worried before finding out the truth.

It turned out that every time her son sneaked out of his room, it was to find Cheng Yi.

An Mu was angry and amused at the same time. Although she did have a little prejudice against Cheng Yi at the very beginning, he didn't seem to have made any targeted moves afterwards.

How could her son deliberately hide the truth from her and avoid her like that?

However, although she was helpless, An Mu did not point it out and just pretended that she had not noticed anything.

She would have continued to play dumb if her son hadn't left yesterday morning and didn’t return until the next day.

It was becoming more outrageous.  Cheng Yi was the one pursuing her son, so how could she let him run to him all the time and stay out at night!

An Mu was angry and made up her mind to correct her son's attitude: "Yan Yan, I know you and Cheng Yi have a good relationship, but you can't sneak around to his place all the time, okay? How bad would it be if his family saw you? If he wants to see you, just let him come to you. Don't ever sneak over there again, okay? How dare you climb over the wall? Aren’t you afraid of falling down!"

With that, An Mu couldn't help but glare at her son. He usually looked so docile. How could he be willing to do such a dangerous thing for Cheng Yi?

An Yan was a little shocked and worried at his mother’s first words. Could it be that his mother already knew the secret of his body?

It was only at the latter part of the sentence that An Yan slowly put his heart down. His mother seemed to be talking about something completely different from what he thought.

An Yan, who was in a state of guilt, did not consider the deep meaning of his mother's words at all and nodded his head repeatedly, "I know."

Seeing that her son was as well behaved as ever, An Mu did not want to continue to reprimand him and softened her tone, asking, "Has Yan Yan eaten his lunch?"

An Yan shook his head very honestly, "Not yet."

An Mu instantly became upset, "It's already this time of the day, and Cheng Yi didn't even let you eat at the Cheng house?"

Although he didn't know why his mother was suddenly upset, An Yan explained with a strong desire to live, "No, it's because I was in a hurry to come back. Senior wanted me to first have lunch."

An Mu didn’t know whether to be angry that her son was so anxious to speak up for Cheng Yi. She could only sigh inwardly, "Come and eat first."

An Yan nodded obediently and accompanied An Mu to have lunch together.

After the meal, An Yan watched TV with his mother and chatted for a while. It was only after she went back to her room to take a nap that he went back to his room and turned on his light brain.

He had received several messages from Cheng Yi while watching TV with An Mu. He wanted to reply immediately, but his desire to live made him make a rare and wise choice.

Cheng Yi: [Has Yan Yan returned home yet?]

Cheng Yi: [Was auntie worried about you? How is the situation now?]

Cheng Yi: [If there is anything I can do, Yan Yan, remember to contact me at any time.]

Cheng Yi: [Are you unable to reply to messages?]

An Yan inexplicably read a hint of grievance from the last message, and he hastily replied: [I've already arrived home. My mother seems to know that I went to your house earlier, so she didn't worry much. I've already finished eating.  Everything is fine now, there's nothing I need help with.]

Cheng Yi replied in seconds: [It's good that everything is okay. I'm going back to college tomorrow. You should spend more time with auntie and rest early.]

As he lay on her bed, An Yan replied, [Yes, I know, and so should senior!]

After turning off the light brain, An Yan comfortably lay on his bed for a while and unknowingly fell asleep.

It was already dark outside when he woke up again.

An Yan yawned as he went downstairs and was about to go to the kitchen to make dinner. Unexpectedly, as soon as he got downstairs, he smelled a familiar and delicious aroma, and his big eyes lit up.

He scurried downstairs and asked An Mu, who was sitting in the living room watching TV, "Mom, did senior come over?"

An Mu glanced at the kitchen, her expression slightly complicated: "Yes, did he tell you before?"

She had finished her lunch break and was about to go out to buy groceries for dinner when the doorbell rang.

She opened the door and saw Cheng Yi standing outside with a lot of fresh ingredients and a polite and gentle attitude: "Hello Auntie, I’m just from the supermarket to buy some ingredients, all of which Yan Yan loves. Can Auntie lend me the kitchen for the evening? "

An Mu looked at the ingredients in Cheng Yi's hands and hesitated for a while before finally nodding her head.

Although her son's behaviour of climbing out of the window for this person did upset her a little, she couldn't condemn her son's stomach because of that. It was better to wait until Cheng Yi finished cooking this meal first.

Cheng Yi entered the house and put the ingredients into the kitchen before taking out the gift for An Mu. "Auntie, this is a brand of skin care product that my mother usually uses. She said it worked well, so I purchased a set for you. I hope Auntie won't mind. "

An Mu took a glance at the price on the package; 888,888 star coins. Her heart and liver immediately trembled, and her face was a little strained: "This is too expensive. How can I use it? "

Once upon a time, when the family was in straitened circumstances, An Mu never used skin care products.

Although the An family's economic situation had recently improved greatly and An Yan had bought her a set of skincare products, the price was obviously not this high.

"This is just a small token from my heart. It's not much. It hope that Auntie won’t mind. " Cheng Yi smiled politely and took the initiative to open up the conversation again, chatting with An Mu.

Although the conversation was all very domestic, An Mu could clearly feel that Cheng Yi was lowering his attitude to get along with her, or to put it a little more bluntly, he was trying to please her.

He was doing this, obviously for one purpose.

Cheng Yi was sitting in front of her, looking for various topics of interest to her in order to bring them closer together.

When she thought of her simple-minded, foolish son, who had clearly been moved but was still clueless, An Mu suddenly stopped being angry.

Forget it. It was Cheng Yi who was more pitiful than herself. What else could she be angry about?

Having thought of this, An Mu’s attitude towards Cheng Yi also became more natural: "Yan Yan should be waking up soon, so you should go and make dinner."

"Okay, I'll go now." Cheng Yi immediately got up, his heart feeling relieved.

Although he hadn't asked the little one very clearly, Cheng Yi could probably piece together what An Mu was thinking from An Yan’s words.

She probably thought that the little one had disappeared from his room several times in order to meet him privately.

Although An Mu’s thoughts were different from the truth, Cheng Yi still took it upon himself to take the blame and took the initiative to come over and apologize.

Some things were difficult to explain clearly, so instead of being vague, it was better to admit the guilt from the beginning and then try to remedy the situation. It might have an unexpected effect.

For example, Cheng Yi could clearly feel the change in An Yan’s mother's attitude towards him at this moment, and he was really relieved.

An Yan didn't notice An Mu’s expression. He blinked and shook his head, "No, I didn't even know that Senior would be coming over today."

An Mu looked back at her silly son and felt even more sympathy for Cheng Yi. "Cheng Yi has been busy for awhile. Go over and see if you can help."

"Okay." An Yan immediately jumped and went into the kitchen.

But he obviously didn't manage to help out much. Instead, he sneaked a taste of the next few dishes under Cheng Yi's indulgence and feeding.

"Well, Senior's cooking is really good!" And the taste was unique too. Otherwise, An Yan wouldn't have been able to tell that these dishes were made by Cheng Yi based on the aroma alone.

Cheng Yi fed another crystal clear prawn into An Yan's mouth and said with a light smile, "If Yan Yan likes it, I can keep making it for you." It would be fine to make it for you the rest of your life.

"Really?" An Yan opened his eyes wide in surprise as he chewed on the shrimp.

Cheng Yi nodded dotingly and helped An Yan wipe the grease stains off the corners of his mouth. "Of course it's true."

"Senior, you're so kind!" An Yan praised from the bottom of his heart.

Cheng Yi reached out and pinched An Yan's little nose, turning his head to plate the last dish, "Yan Yan, go wash your hands. I'll take these dishes out and then we can eat."

"Mmmm!" An Yan nodded and bounced out again.

An Mu in the living room felt her teeth aching as she listened to the interaction between the two in the kitchen, but she couldn't help but have a pleased smile on her face.
