Chapter 3.2

(Unedited - Will Be Second Reading It As Soon As I Can)

Qi Aodong slowly said to Ji Zeyu: “You…”

He wanted to say this to the person beside him: ‘You dancing kills have improved a lot.’ However, he suddenly heard Ji Zeyu quietly whisper a few words to himself: “Holy crap, I really did well! Even I can’t believe that I got through that safely.”

“…” Qi Aodong was speechless for a moment. The words that Ji Zeyu said told him that everything he saw just now was just a mere illusion of his mind.

The program team had prepared a bus for the contestants and asked them to go back to the TV Station so that they can continue recording ‘Shining Stars’.

After Lu Nanyun got into the vehicle and sat on the bus seat, everyone automatically moved away from him. Even his loyal follower Wan Taki deliberately sat behind his seat.

The reason why the rest of the contestants were acting like this was because every time that Ji Zeyu enters the same bus as them, he will always forcefully sit next to Lu Nanyun. If they don’t let him seat next to the person he wants, he will immediately lose his temper and make everyone feel very embarrassed.

Therefore, everyone had tacitly agreed that the seat next to Lu Nanyun shall always be reserved for Ji Zeyu. That is the reason why there would always be a vacant seat next to Lu Nanyun every time that the show will participate on a Marketting Summit.

Lu Nanyun slightly frowned. The situation he’s currently in made him remember the resentful feelings that he felt for Ji Zeyu once again.

At this moment, Ji Zeyu who was carrying a black satchel with him lazily got into the vehicle. Behind him was Qi Aodong who had followed him out of the filming site.

“Brother Nan, he’s here.” Wan Taki silently whispered behind Lu Nanyun: “You have to look out for yourself.”

“Shut up.” Lu Nanyun replied back to him with a very unkind tone.

Ji Zeyu looked around the vicinity of the bus. Inside his mind, he was thinking of which seat should he sit on so that he can stay away from the two main characters at the same time.

A few seconds later, with the crowd watching him, Ji Zeyu walked past Lu Nanyun’s seat without any signs of stopping or hesitation and directly went to a seat next to the window before sitting down.

Lu Nanyun who was ignored by Ji Zeyu was stunned for a few moments.

Qi Aodong also looked at him with a surprised expression on his face: “You…” He wanted to ask why he didn’t sit next to Lu Nanyun.

“You should sit next to me, Qi Aodong.” Ji Zeyu grabbed the other party’s arm and pulled him to his side.

When Qi Aodong finally felt himself reacting to the sudden pull, he was already sitting next to Ji Zeyu.

He was just about to speak out when Ji Zeyu suddenly took out two bottles of mineral water from his bag and then handed one bottle to him.

Qi Aodong obediently took the mineral water before saying thank you to Ji Zeyu.

Ji Zeyu leaned into his ear before telling him in a very quiet voice: “I know that you don’t like me at all. However I actually wanted to tell you before the Marketing Summit today that the two of us are from the same agency, so if you don’t want rumors to float around about us being ’at odds’ with each other then you don’t always have to avoid me.”

Qi Aodong was slightly stunned by his words, he immediately looked at Ji Zeyu’s face and saw him with a serious look in his amber colored eyes, an expression that he hadn’t seen on him before.

On the other side of the bus, Wan Taki saw that Ji Zeyu chose to sit next to Qi Aodong instead of sitting next to Lu Nanyun. He immediately showed a shocked expression on his face before he hurriedly stood up from his seat and sat next to Lu Nanyun, he asked him with a teasing tone on his voice: “Brother Nan, what’s going on? Did Ji Zeyu not flip your card today?”

“Do you even know how to speak properly?” Lu Nanyun asked him back as the blue veins on his forehead started to look as though they were about to burst from the anger he felt: “Shut up if you don’t know how to talk appropriately.”

He actually wished that Ji Zeyu would continuously stay away from him, the fater away he was the better!

Wan Taki looked at Ji Zeyu whose head was close to Qi Aodong as he whispered next to the other’s ear, Wan Taki cannot help but say: “But that youngster called Qi Aodong is really good looking. He looks pure and innocent…”

Lu Nanyun mercilessly cut him off with a cold tone: “That’s none of my business.”

However, after he said that, Lu Nanyun couldn’t help but look at the direction where Ji Zeyu sat at.

“Also, don’t always keep a cold face in the future.” Ji Zeyu looked into Qi Aodong’s eyes as he calmly said: “In this types of largescale events, you must cherish every opportunity to appear on the camera and show your best side in order to attract more fans.”

As he said that, he Ji Zeyu stretched out his two fingers and gently poked unto the corners of Qi Aodong’s lips before saying with a bit of mischief: “For example, just like this.”

Qi Aodong was ticked by Ji Zeyu’s fingers and couldn’t help but let out a little laugh. His cold and mature looks instantly turned youthful. He quickly held back his laughter before he nodded at Ji Zeyu with a serious look on his eyes: “Hmm, I got it.”

Lu Nanyun withdrew his gaze away from them, suddenly feeling very annoyed.

He should feel happy and elated that the annoying person that Ji Zeyu is finally leaving him alone. However, he felt as though he was being cheated on which in turn makes him feel very unhappy.

Just a few days ago, he told him very intimate words like: “I really like you, Lu Nanyun.” Yet now Ji Zeyu had actually forgotten his love for him and already moved on to another person.

He really is such a shameless person.

Lu Nanyun felt that his dislike score for Ji Zeyu increased a few more points.

“Brother Nan, don’t you think that Ji Zeyu is playing hard to get?” Wan Taki suddenly wondered.

Playing hard to get?

Lu Nanyun was quite stunned from what he heard from Wan Taki. After a few seconds, he let out a sneer and said: “Heh… That must be it, this guy is really filled with tricks.”

Ji Zeyu suddenly sneezed.

Qi Aodong was not as guarded as he had before when they first met. He took out a jacket from his bad and handed it to Ji Zeyu: “Here, wear this. Don’t catch a cold.”

Ji Zeyu didn’t refuse his offer and gratefully took the offered jacket and covered himself with it.

Lu Nanyun who witnessed this scene with his own eyes had a cold expression on his face as he inwardly thought to himself: ‘Oh, what a clumsy trick to use against me.’

After the bus finally arrived at the TV Station, the program team took back their cellphones and asked them to go to the practice rooms to practice their performances.

Ji Zeyu and Qi Aodong lived on the same dormitory, so they went back to their dorm together to change into the Class B yellow-colored shirts. At this time, Ji Zeyu suddenly asked Qi Aodong: “Xiao Dong, what are we going to practice next?

“…” Qi Aodong inwardly thought to himself that he was probably out of his mind, to think that he actually thought that this guy in front of him had the will to grow and improve himself further… He still replied to him obediently despite his thoughts: “The first public performance, we’re in the same group. How can you even forget about this?”

“I have a poor memory, hehe”

Ji Zeyu scratched his head as he chuckled lightly before suddenly freezing up after he registered Qi Aodong's words in his brains. He repeated Qi Aodong’s words as he asked: “You mean… the first public performance?”

In the original novel, Ji Zeyu who was covered in black rumors performed amazingly in his first performance – he was the embodiment of the words ‘shocking’ and ‘frightening’.

He chose the most difficult song and then hogged the center position all to himself. However, his strength was so bad and lacking that he led the entire group into the abyss. Their performance had become one of the most famous scenes within the whole year and it had become a valuable material in a certain area of the video streaming sites.

It can be said that this first public performance was the beginning of Ji Zeyu’s end. His character and capabilities were scolded by the whole network and his reputation within the public collapsed to the point of no return, he had become completely synonymous with the words ‘a waste of time and resources.’

“That’s right…” Qi Aodong looked at Ji Zeyu with a strange look on his face: “We were already divided into groups last week. You have the C position as well, you can’t possibly forget even this important thing right?”

“Then…” Ji Zeyu tentatively asked him: “How many days do we have left before the first public performance?”

Qi Aodong stretched out three of his slender fingers as he answered: “We have three days left.”

In the original novel, the singing and dancing parts of the song that Ji Zeyu chose are not simple at all. The formation and positioning of the dance moves require a long time to polish and break in. If he wanted to completely master this performance in three days, it is definitely much harder than imitating a few dance moves on the stage in order to fool people.

“How far have we rehearsed now?” Ji Zeyu asked, holding unto a small glimmer of hope: “Like for example, the formation and so on…”

“We’re already at the level of square dancing…” Qi Aodong’s words had pushed Ji Zeyu into the abyss.

Qi Aodong tilted his head as he took a sip of mineral water, his Adam’s apple twitched for a moment and then he looked at Ji Zeyu before slowly saying: “We should just focus on participating – you told us these words last week.”

Ji Zeyu felt himself falling to despair. He suddenly thought that his trip through this book… seemed to be set in hell mode.
