Chapter 4 : I Became A Dragons Father

“What are you doing?” ” The egg is broken!”

Before I could even think about the identity of the small creature, I noticed that the red dragon egg that had been right in front of me moments before was now broken.

It was quite big, so as soon as it cracked, I was able to see it.

The cracked eggshell, inside was empty.

Instead, a small creature revealed itself.

Thinking about it normally, I am certain that it emerged from inside the egg.

That means …… this is the child of the Red Dragon?

The little creature continued to cling to me.

It cuddled me like a cute puppy, staring at me with its innocent eyes and licking my face.

“Oh, I see. You think I’m your parent, huh??

“Kryuuuuu!”

The little dragon responded to my question.

The way this little red dragon responded to my words i wondered if it understood what i’m saying.

“Does you understand what I’m saying?”

“Kryuu!

“Then lie down.”

“kryu kryuu”

The little dragon did as I asked, and curled up on his stomach and rolled over.

Now I knew it could understand me.

I was not surprised though.

I wasn’t too astonished, because I knew a being who could understand human language even right after birth.

I’m talking about ME.

I was immediately convinced by that since I was able to do so too, so it would not be surprising if there were other beings who could do so as well, and this one here as a Legendary Red Dragon of all things.

I caressed the little dragon’s coiled up head.

The other side pressed its head against me as if to say, ” more more more”.

I thought it was adorable, so I petted it more and more.

I had created a sort of solitary world between the little dragon and me, and I didn’t even realize it until a little later.

“WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN

 Grandpa and the guards.

They were all staring at me with a astonished look on their faces.

Some time after the little one had hatched, the Court mage that Grandpa had hurriedly summoned was inspecting the shell of the Red Dragon egg that remained in the garden.

The Court Mage was a middle-aged man, clad in highly decorated robe.

My grandfather and I were observing his inspection.

The little guy, by the way, was curled up at my side, sleeping cutely.

The wizard looked at the egg, picked it up, cast a spell on it, and examined it.

After a while, he turned to me and my grandfather, looking as if he had chewed on a bitter pill.

“What do you think?”

“I don’t trust it, but there is one possibility.”

“Well?!”

“It could only be that Mateo Sama’s magic accelerated the hatching of the egg. ……”

” Accelerated the hatching of the egg? How is that possible?”

Grandpa was surprised and asked the mage back.

The old man asked the mage back in disbelief.

“That’s out of the ordinary, it’s unbelievable. But from the …… circumstantial Evidence, I can only conclude that it is.”

The mage became even more bitter.

I see, that’s why you have that facial expression.

“I’m not sure what you mean by it’s unusual?”

I see. What do you mean by “unusual”?

“It would be unthinkable if Mateo-sama didn’t have a very potent magic power.

” You mean a very high-powered magic?”

“Yes. …… That is impossible… if you don’t have the most powerful magic in the entire empire. ……”

The man’s mouth was grim.

I’m he can’t comprehend it either.

Even I’m not sure If I can believe this either.

I’m not convinced that I have such powerful magical powers.

“Is there any other possibility?”

I asked the man, but he shook his head quietly with a bitter look on his face.

“None, sir.”

“Well, then, do you have any evidence to convince us that this is indeed the case-……?”

“Evidence, sir?”

“Hmm. I’m sure you’re not the only person in the world who has a problem with this. You have to be capable of convincing a non-wizard of this”

I was a little surprised.

I was expecting my grandfather to be very excited when he heard the man’s story.

I was surprised that he wanted to see the evidence first.

When the man was questioned by grandfather, he cupped his chin and thought dejectedly.

“Oh…”

“What’s wrong?”

“Blood, sir.”

“Blood?”

“Yes, as it so happens, since we are human and a dragon. And our blood is not supposed to be mixed.”

“….. Well, I’ve heard that before.”

“Me too. I’ve also heard that the blood of a dragon burns like a hot magma.”

The man gave a small nod as my grandfather and I continued.

“Strictly speaking, it’s a little different. The blood of a dragon rejects everything, and in some cases, it burns the opponent as a result, which is why the image of a dragon burning like magma has come to be associated with the color of its blood.

“I see. So?”
The blood of a dragon rejects everything, and sometimes, as a result of that, it burns the other person, which is why the image of a dragon burning like magma has come to be associated with the color of its blood.

“I see. So?

So? The old man urged me to go on.

“This rejection is the key. If the child of the Red Dragon is born with Mateo’s magic, its blood will not reject his blood and will fuse with it.”

“I see, otherwise Mateo’s blood would be repelled and burned.”

“Yes, indeed.”

“Well, let’s try it. Mateo, are you ready?”

“Yes. How much of my blood do you need?”

“A few drops will do. And you’ll also have to prepare a bowl of water.”

“Okay.”

The grandpa gave a nod and called for a maid.

“Master Mateo, you must first pour the blood of the red dragon into this water.”

“Okay. Got it”

“Kryuu.”

The little one nodded with small but brisk motion.

i took hold of the needle that the servant had brought at the same time. I pricked the skin of the baby’s paw or arm and pressed out a few drops of blood and poured it into the water in the basin.

A few drops of blood were squeezed out and poured into the water in the basin. The blood spread into the water and steam rose up at the same time.

As you can see, the Red Dragon’s blood has already begun to repel the water.

“I see. So Mateo is next.”

“Yes.”

I lowered the little guy to the ground and pricked my finger with a needle, pouring a few drops of blood into the basin as well.

Instantly, the steam stopped.

The water stopped vaporizing.

The moment my blood went into the water, it ceased, and then my blood and the little one’s blood fused together.

“It really is …… melting. ……”

“I can’t believe it. …… How is it even possible? ……”

The two adults were amazed and marveled.
