I see, I somehow understand the motive for the crime, including the kidnappings caused by the Colors Collector. I feel sorry for Viscount Hillson’s past, and I know he wanted to help his wife. And I understand the king’s desire to help his son at that time.

But I don’t like the way they did it. The misfortunes and and troubles that fell on others are too big. Why do unrelated people have to lose their lives for your loved ones?

“Chris-sama. I don’t mind if you sympathize with the king’s deeds at that time or feel sorry for Viscount Hillson, but his deeds are already unacceptable. Can you be depressed later and tell me where he’s going?”

“. . . . . . . Yeah. That’s right. . . his destination is. . . . . . his workplace. . . . there is a barrel containing Mrs. Hilson. . . . . .”

Viscount Hillson, it’s a challenge to hide Lindsay-san’s barrel at work. Let’s see. Viscount Hillson’s workplace. . . workplace. What is Viscount Hillson’s job? I remember that he is a viscount, but what kind of work does he do? I feel like I learned it from Ursch-kun before, but I can’t remember.

“Ursch-kun, what did Viscount Hillson do for a job?”

Ursch-kun answered my question with a smile.

“He’s a government officer of the royal palace.”

“I see. A government officer of the royal palace. . . A government officer of the royal palace?!”

Wait, wait wait wait. If he’s a government officer of the royal palace, his workplace is. . . yeah. It’s the royal palace, right?

“Is Lindsay-san’s barrel in the royal palace?”

At my astonishment, Ursch-kun nodded as if it were nothing.

“Yes, that’s right. In the first place, Viscount Hillson put his wife in the [Prison of the soul] when he was trapped in the royal palace. It may be difficult to move the barrel on the magic circle and carry it far away by peeling off the floor with the magic circle drawn on it. Even if you have a [Closet] like Isabella, it’s dificult to determine if you can store it.”

I stood in a hurry when I heard that and shouted at Ursch-kun.

“Oh no, Ursch-kun!! I just sent Brian and Geese to the royal palace where the Knights are located!! They might meet at the royal palace!!”

Before I finished, I ran towards the royal palace.

Well, if Geese and the viscount meet, the viscount, who got the [Anti-Soul Necklace], will go to his wife without even glancing at Geese, but it’s better to rush to the royal palace.

The most important thing is that we need to get there before it becomes a battle between the Imperial Knights of the royal palace and the slightly out of control viscount. Because they only protect the royal palace, the Imperial Knights are strong. Especially my brother Daimon. So, if the Imperial Knights accidentally defeat the viscount, he will move to the next body, which will be troublesome.

As I ran to the central district where the royal palace is located, the sky gradually turned white at dawn. Oh, too many things happened in one night. It seems like it was a long time ago that I was doing a decoy operation with Paul-san, who was dressed as a woman. Nothing is over yet.

The central discrict that was finally visible, was quiet as if the late night commotion was a lie, but some of the knights, military police, and adventurers remained and searched for the rest of the undead. There were also residents who were still awake and watching what was going on outside.

A while after entering the central district, Ursch-kun caught up with me on a kickboard with dragonfly wings.

“It looks like yesterday’s undead commotion is over. The undead that were knocked down all over the city are gone, so maybe Isabella’s purification magic worked?”

“More than that, what is the board that Ursch-kun is on?! It’s floating in the air, right?!”

Ursch-kun answered my question while looking down at the kickboard like thing.

“Oh, this? With my physical strength and speed, I can’t keep up with Isabella, so I made a vehicle for transportation.”

To put it simply, that’s amazing, Ursch-kun. It’s faster than the full speed of a warhorse when chasing me, and above all, it’s flying. It can also rise and avoid obstacles without difficulty. It’s more like near-future science fiction than fantasy. I wondered if Alice-chan and the others were on the same thing but I couldn’t see them.

“What about Alice-chan and Chris-sama?”

“I’ve only created this one, so they’ll ride a horse later.”

Oh. Did you leave them behind? When I was involuntarily looking far away, an explosion sounded from far ahead, diagonally in front of us. As soon as I looked in the direction of the sound, a building was blown away by an explosion or something. Rubble flew away and smoke was rising.

“Don’t tell me it’s Alice-chan!”

“. . . That’s not possible. She can’t overtake us with a horse and get in front of us.”

Then, what happened? The residents came to the windows or came out of buildings at the sound of the explosion.

When I was looking up at the smoke while running twords the royal palace, I saw something like blue-black fireworks through the gap between the building and the smoke. At that moment, there was a louder explosion than before, and a blast hit through the gap between the buildings a moment later. I immediately protected my face with my arms and narrowed my eyes, and got past the flying gravel. I could see pebbles, and the inside of my mouth became rough with sand and dust. Then the blast suddenly subsided, so I looked up, and Ursch-kun had a defensive wall around us.

“I’m sorry Isabella. I almost got blown away and was late to put up a defensive wall.”

“No. I didn’t even think of putting up a defensive wall. Thank you.”

I looked in the direction of the explosion from the defensive wall that Ursch-kun put up. The residents were jumping out of nearby buildings and running away. The knights and adventurers were heading in the direction of the explosion against the waves of fleeing beople.

“What are you going to do, Isabella? Are you going to the royal palace? Or?”

“I’m heading in the direction of the explosion. I saw something like blue-black fireworks in the game.”

It was crowded with people who were in a rush to run away. When I was thinking about how to proceed, Ursch-kun pulled me up on top of the kickboard. The two of us rose while deploying the defensive wall.

At the same time as I could see the street where the explosion was occuring little by little, I was able to clearly look down at the things like blue-black fireworks that exploded again.

Colors Collector’s demon shooter barrage attack magic.

If you make it a live-action, it would probably be like that. It felt like large-scale fireworks spread around me.

Ursch-kun muttered while looking down at it.

“. . . That kind of widespread attack magic is dangerous when people get too close to do a melee attack, but people who don’t know the situation will rush in the direction of the explosion.”

That’s true. Is it best to attack from a distance? No, no, if I defeat him normally, the viscount’s soul will move to the next body.

“Ursch-kun, what is the right way to defeat the viscount’s forbidden technique?”

“Instead of the body, defeat the soul, but. . . I don’t know how to do it. It’s different from ghost monsters, so it’s not purification magic. Because it’s a soul, physical attacks are impossible. I don’t even know if there is magic for only attacking the soul.”

What should I do. . .

It looks like Isabella is finally about to face off against Viscount Hillson! Maybe.
