TANH Chapter 30.2: Seminary 06.2

7TH MAY 2023~SV

Their identical smiles seemed to have been rubbed into them

Bai Tong repeated, “The number God likes most is 69…”

His voice paused. Very quickly, he understood, and stared at the school history book deeply.

Wen Qing looked at it for a while, then slowly reacted.

69……

Yu Xing liked 69……

Why did he have to write this sort of thing in the book!

He really didn’t want to know at all!!

The air was extremely silent. After a long time, Bai Tong spoke, “The seminary only enrols 69 students every year.”

“Right now, we have 74 people.”

Wen Qing’s eyes twitched. There was an ominous premonition in his heart. “There’s five more enrolled.”

Bai Tong pursed his lips and quietly said, “There are five days left until God’s birthday.”

“On God’s birthday, the number of students left will definitely be the number God likes most.”

Wen Qing paled. That was to say, people might die within the next few days.

The system was forcing them to do the advanced task and figure out the school’s secrets.

Bai Tong lightly tapped the book’s page, calling Wen Qing’s attention back, and slowly asked, “Do you have any other ideas?”

Wen Qing was a little muddled. He didn’t know why he suddenly asked this, and could only answer dryly, “I- I want to figure out the hidden secrets of the seminary.”

Bai Tong chuckled gently. “I didn’t mean it that way.”

Pointing to the sentence of the school founder, he asked again, “Do you have any other understanding of this sentence?”

Wen Qing blinked, and understood Bai Tong’s question.

There were other hidden messages in this sentence.

What were they?

Wen Qing was silent for a moment. His cheeks warmed, and he tentatively said, “Si- sixty-nine?”

Bai Tong didn’t speak, but the corners of his lips lifted, and he smiled until his eyes curved.

Knowing that he must’ve said an outrageous answer, Wen Qing’s cheeks became hotter, the tips of his ears flushed, and he stammered out, “You- don’t laugh at me…”

“I know I’m stupid.”

Bai Tong’s right hand turned into a fist, covering the upraised corners of his lips, but his tone was still smiling, “Not stupid.”

“Very cute.”

Wen Qing expressed that he was not comforted, and quietly asked, “What other meanings are there?”

Bai Tong patiently explained, “Every year, the seminary only enrols 69 students. Now, adding the 10 players, there are only 74 students.”

He taught with skill and patience, like a classmate who used to take great pains to teach Wen Qing maths problems.

Wen Qing thought about it, and quickly figured it out. “Before we arrived, there were only 64 people in the seminary.”

“Five people had disappeared.”

Bai Tong nodded, “Their disappearance should have something to do with the so-called secret.”

“And it will also…”

He dragged out his tone, waiting for Wen Qing to answer.

Wen Qing raised his eyes, met Bai Tong’s dark eyes, and hesitantly said, “And it will also have something to do with Ji Junfeng?”

Bai Tong’s lips curved, and he patted Wen Qing’s head like he was encouraging a child. “Mm, your response is very quick.”

Wen Qing’s face flushed, and he quietly said, “It’s because you asked well.”

If he was allowed to think on his own, he definitely wouldn’t be able to figure it out for a while.

Bai Tong lowered his eyes and turned the book to the next page.

The book fit its title《 Seminary, A Piece of the School’s History 》very well. It said it was a piece of school history, and it really was a piece of school history.

It briefly told of the history of the school’s founding process.

The land at the foot of the seminary used to be a barren land ravaged by monsters. The person who claimed to be the founder of the school had stumbled into it by mistake. At death’s door, he was saved by God, and so he built the seminary.

At the end of the book, there was a passage from the school’s founder.

【 Due to God’s favour and love, the new students are under God’s protection, only limited to a year. From the time of graduation to eternity, in endless generations, glory be to God. 】

Wen Qing couldn’t understand this passage. He glanced towards Bai Tong, at a loss.

Bai Tong spoke, “The seminary is a one-year program.”

He looked down at the school history book, and slowly said, “If I’m not mistaken, God’s birthday should be the time of graduation for other students.”

Wen Qing’s eyes twitched wildly. Something was bound to happen on God’s birthday.”

Bai Tong’s eyes sank. He quickly flipped through the school history book again.

He frowned, and said to Wen Qing, “There’s nothing about the school rules here.”

“The school rules were added later.”

Wen Qing frowned. That was to say, something had happened after, so the teachers added those three school rules.

【 Pray to God every day. 】

【 Do not coerce others. 】

【 It is forbidden to leave the dormitory after the curfew. 】

Bai Tong placed the school history book down, and looked towards the bookshelves full of yearbooks. “See if there are any clues in the yearbooks.”

Wen Qing nodded and began to search for this year’s or last year’s yearbook.

He circled around the bookshelf. He didn’t find the yearbook, but he saw Chen Qiang covering Zhang Chengrun’s mouth and dragging him to the corridor.

Wen Qing frowned, quickly poked Bai Tong’s arm, and whispered to him about Zhang Chengrun’s situation.

Bai Tong placed the book down. The two of them hurriedly followed.

The sound of clothes rustling sounded out ahead. A belt was flung at the wall, letting out a slap, which was immediately followed by Chen Qiang’s scolding, “Fuck, you fucking bitch, you’re so slutty, and you still dare to look down on laozi[1].”

“Short and thin, you are not a fucking man!”

Zhang Chengrun raised his voice and said, “Try and touch me if you dare, have you forgotten the second rule of the school rules?!”

Chen Qiang sneered, “Nothing happened to that piece of shit Oz when he beat me, so what can happen if I fuck you?!”

Just as Wen Qing ran to the side of the staircase, he heard a sticky cry come from inside.

It wasn’t painful, it was like… a comfortable one.

Wen Qing’s footsteps paused. Suddenly, he was unsure if he should enter or not.

Could that be some sort of interesting play just now?

He turned to look at Bai Tong.

Bai Tong raised his eyelids, took a step in, and coldly stared at the two people in the corner.

“Fuck, is laozi short?”

“Short to death! Ah—”

Wen Qing took a small step forward and saw Chen Qiang and Zhang Chengrun taking off their pants.

The next second, the two of them paused in unison.

Not because of Wen Qing and Bai Tong, but because there was an extra figure at the staircase on the second floor.

At some point, Teacher Chen stood upstairs, staring at them with a gloomy expression.

Chen Qiang and Zhang Chengrun’s expressions changed immediately.

Teacher Chen slowly walked downstairs, the heels of his leather shoes stepping on the steps. His voice was very soft, but the hearts of everyone present thumped heavily.

“During fasting, purify the heart and desires.”

“Student Chen Qiang and student Zhang Chengrun violated the fasting regulations and scorned God. They are to be confined for 24 hours to repent. Chen Qiang violated the second school rule, must not coerce others, and he will be confined for an additional six hours.”

Chen Qiang’s face drained of blood. He hurriedly said, “Sir, we didn’t do anything!”

“We- we were just playing around, I haven’t gone in yet…”

Zhang Chengrun gritted his teeth and said to Teacher Chen, “Sir, I was forced by him. I- I also want to abstain and purify my heart. I didn’t take the initiative to violate the fasting regulations and shouldn’t be punished.”

Hearing this, Chen Qiang became furious and slapped Zhang Chengrun’s face. “Fuck your mother, you’re the one who seduced me, bitch!”

Teacher Chen coldly stared at them, saying nothing.

Soon, several burly men rushed in. They walked up to Zhang Chengrun and Chen Qiang, and the moment they grabbed their arms, the two of them immediately went limp and collapsed to the ground.

“Bring them to the confinement room.”

After dealing with Chen Qiang and Zhang Chengrun, Teacher Chen walked up to Wen Qing and Bai Tong. A slight smile appeared on his face and he kindly said, “They will be purified, physically and mentally.”

Wen Qing’s heart skipped a beat. How would they be purified?

Bai Tong pulled up the corners of his mouth, and led Wen Qing back to the first floor.

Not long after, a broadcasted announcement sounded out in the library.

【 Chen Qiang and Zhang Chengrun violated the school rules and fasting regulations, they have gone to the confinement room to purify their minds and bodies. 】

The players looked at each other, whispered and exchanged information.

After calming down for a while, Wen Qing walked to the bookshelf to continue looking for yearbooks.

The 2021 yearbook was in the corner of the bottom row, and it was blocked by another yearbook, so he didn’t find it earlier.

Just as Wen Qing stretched out his hand, another hand moved faster than him and pulled out the yearbook.

“Do you know what happened to Chen Qiang and Zhang Chengrun?” Li Jingjing held the yearbook and questioned Wen Qing with a smile.

Wen Qing told her what he saw truthfully.

Li Jingjing nodded, lost in thought. She turned and smiled at Wen Qing, “Earlier, I heard some news.”

“The bald man who failed to enrol in the school yesterday, he used to be a rapist.”

The so-called crime referred to rape.

Bai Tong’s eyes squinted. “The second rule of the school rules, you cannot coerce others, which means you cannot force others to have sex.”

“It has nothing to do with other coercions.”

Wen Qing was confused. So it also meant that school violence did not violate the school rules.

That was why Oz could beat anyone at will, why Ji Junfeng was beaten up by other students…

The god here, Yu Xing, only cared about everyone’s sexual desires.

Wen Qing couldn’t help but clench his fists. Yu Xing, this guy is a lecherous god!

Li Jingjing shook the yearbook in her hand and told Bai Tong, “Brother Bai, my hobby is following the rules.”

Bai Tong scrutinised her.

Wen Qing was still thinking, other people’s hobbies are so normal.

Why was he so special?

Li Jingjing spoke again, “I’ve met you several times in the World before, the lucky restaurant.”

“I might not be able to pass this instance alone.”

Wen Qing looked at Li Jingjing, then looked at Bai Tong.

Does this mean she wants to cooperate?

Bai Tong pursed his lips and spoke, “My clue is reading books, Wen Qing’s is a person.”

Li Jingjing smiled at Wen Qing, but didn’t continue asking who the clue was.

She held up the yearbook and said to the two, “I’ll open it and take a look.”

Li Jingjing turned to the first page. The next second, the smile on her face froze.

Wen Qing leaned over to look. The first page of the yearbook was a photograph of the students.

Everyone’s eyes were closed with peaceful expressions, and all of them had the same calm smile on their faces, as if they were carved out of the same mould.

If you took a closer look, you could see that the angle of the view was very strange. It was taken from above.

Everyone seemed to be lying in a coffin, and their identical smiles seemed to have been rubbed into them, as if all the years had been peaceful and harmonious, and it was for those who came to pay homage for commemoration.

Wen Qing only felt a chill.
