This was a Mary Sue 1 abo elite school novel.  

The main character, Luo Xinghe, is a gender defective Omega with no reproductive function and no estrus period. Even though he was a son from the royal family, he was taken out of the palace by a maid. At the age of ten, he escaped from the vicious maid and met Lu You, who wanted to bring Luo Xinghe home.  The vicious maid had found him later on, and she struck a transaction with the Lu Family to give Luo Xinghe to their young master.

At the time Luo Xinghe thought he was saved, he never thought it would be another pit, and his hatred completely flared up afterwards.

The Lu Family’s Lu You was a scummy playboy. At first, he liked Luo Xinghe a lot, but later on, he turned against him immediately when he learnt that he was a defective Omega. Yet, as he knew that their engagement couldn’t be annulled, he got close to him on purpose and then tore his falsely gentle disguise. He used every means possible to humiliate Luo Xinghe, and more importantly after learning the other’s feelings, he just went around and got involved romantically with others. He even used sinister means to force Luo Xinghe’s hand. He wanted to get him to break off their engagement by himself with this constant humiliation.

Luo Xinghe never thought that his heart would break like this. He watched Lu You embrace others, disgrace him, trample on his heart, and his hatred accumulated. The whole point of the novel was to showcase that everything would be returned in kind. The delicate Omega ended up becoming a king and successfully got his revenge with almost no emotion whatsoever. 

The novel was still very abusive nevertheless. 

Lu You cried a lot while reading, and in the end, he really couldn’t describe his feelings. Those extremely contradictory feelings that involved empathy as well. He thought of a particular scene in the book. Lu You had jumped into the water and let himself drown to death. As he knew how to swim, it was obvious that it was a way to end his own life. And while Lu You deserved it, there’s still something that bothered him, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.

Thinking back of the ending, while he was about to be crowned king, Luo Xinghe had been standing in the room where Lu You had committed suicide.

This novel caught my attention mostly because the omega is the Seme, which is quite the different dynamic in Omegaverse hehe!

Also, I’m aware that in ABO/Omegaverse, omegas usually go in heat while alphas go into ruts, but the author wrote heat for Lu You so that’s what I’m keeping it like!
