The softness of my heart is almost gone.

I confirm with Mikariam-kun about the magic fish.
It doesn’t look like he’s saying that because he cares about me or is trying to force himself.
For Mikariam-kun, the magic fish doesn’t seem to be something like ‘He listens to what I say because he’s a good friend.’
As Hurst-san said, it seems that magic fish are only used by people who they recognize as a superior species.

“Well then, there’s something I want Elja-san to see. . .”

“Yes. I think it’s faster for you to actually see it.”

“Yeah, I got it!”

“Then let’s move to the beach.”

We approached the sea from the beach we were talking about.
So I prepared. . .

“Mikariam-kun, I want you to call me a magic fish.”

Hearing my request, Mikariam-kun entered the magic sea.
After awhile, Mikariam-kun came back and pointed his finger at me.

In front of Mikariam-kun’s finger, a magic fish was looking at me with it’s dorsal fin and eyes sticking out of the sea.
The reason why it doesn’t come to the beach is probably because the sea isn’t deep enough.

“Come here!”

“Gyo!”

So wave my hand towards it.
Then, the magic fish towards me.
And. . .

“Be delicious!”

. . .Roar, holy sword! (kitchen knife)

“. . . . .So”

Fish bouncing on the sandy beach.
It seems to be a different type than the one on the wharf, with red scales shining on its back.

. . . This is red sea bream!

“Nothing Elja-san should worry about. I swear that Mikariam-kun and I will only use this ability for fishing.”

. . .Yes. This ability is for fishing.

“It’s a mermaid fishery.”

. . . Safe and secure.

I stare back at the purple eyes that were looking at me seriously.
Then, Elja-san opened his mouth wide.

“Mermaid fishery”

And then, that face crumbled away. . .

“Wait a minute. . . Wait a minute. . . Seriously, what are you saying. . . With that serious face. . . Wait a minute!”

It’s not his usual laughter.

“Hey! Shina-kun makes me laugh too much!”

He can’t stop even if he wants to.

“A mermaid fishery. . .! You swear that you will only use that power for fishing. . .! The fangs of the King of Beasts are being used like this. . .!”

That’s how he laughed.

“My stomach hurts!”

Elja-san held his stomach and laughed.

 

I wonder if the kitchen knife is the reason that the magic beasts came to Shina or if it’s just her. The first time it happened was after she already had the knife. And I wonder if she could do other things with that knife other than just make them be delicious. . .
