Chapter 005 - She was surely not one to get married. (1)

Zhou Yan was a carefree one and he didn’t really care whether his stepmother would tell on him.

He was, however, a little distressed that his stepmother would interfere would his school matters.

Truth was, he didn’t really resent the fact his father had gotten remarried as much as others had thought. It really didn’t matter to him much that there was an extra person around the house. Besides, a whole month had passed and him and his stepmother had gotten along peacefully. He was quite pleased with their parallel states of life. He had always known since he was a child that his parents never lived together and, even when they met up, they were very distant with each other, very unlike other couples. His dad did not cheat on his mother nor did his mother act like the divorce was the end of the world. As such, he saw no problem that his dad wanted to be with someone else now that he was single.

He was already used to it. He had, after noon, already been to three of his mother’s weddings.

He had it all figured out. If his stepmother insisted on interfering and, if she was to escalate matters like Yan Zhengfei had said, that would be a sign that she no longer want him to be around the house.

And, if that was the case, he didn’t have to stick around. He could almost move to an apartment by the school.

And, if she was still not happy even after that, then there wasn’t much that he could do.

Jiang Jinjin didn’t have as much free time as Zhou Yan thought she did. Never mind about her, not even the original owner had that kind of free time.

Up until this point, there were a lot of indicators. For some inexplicable reasons, this body felt exhausted after she had transmigrated over and let her experienced what it was like to be near-death. That was the reason that she had, for a brief moment there, thought she was in heaven. It took her two full days to recover some of her energy.

There were a lot of description about the stepmother in the novel and the stepmother only existed when the male lead told the female lead about his family. Jiang Jinjin was unable to tell whether the stepmother was alive or not.

So why was it that she had faith in the stepmother’s character? Her confidence came from Zhou Mingfeng, the male lead’s father.

In the novel, Zhou Yan had always looked up this father. All of his actions, let it be butting head with his father or causing troubles outside, stemmed from the fact that he wanted to attract his father’s attention. Most of the description about Zhou Mingfeng was relatively positive and, even though he was busy and couldn’t devote too much time to his son, he never his son experienced any injustice. He was a calm and cool-headed businessman who seemed to be able to see through everything. A person like him, having divorced for a whole 6 years, and finally go married again, must have spent a lot of time in making sure that the original owner would not threaten his son in any way.

Besides, there was a gap between the two of them. The original owner was about the same age as Jiang Jinjin, around 26 ~ 27. She would never be able to outsmart Zhou Mingfeng when it came to scheming.

A man like Zhou Mingfeng must be someone who had been through a lot and was not the kind of youngster who would lose his head in love. That was the reason she referred to that as high difficulty level. What chance did she stand going up against a man like that?

Instead of trying to be a good stepmother or a wealth prominent housewife, she was much better off trying to make money utilizing her current status.

Jiang Jinjin immediately started going through her total assets after she returned from school. She had it all figured out in one afternoon.

She did not see the legendary domineering CEO’s black card. All of the original owner’s assets added up to around 200,000 yuan.

Luckily, she had mentally prepared her for that. Zhou Mingfeng should be generous to his son but that did not mean he was a fool with money to throw around.

The Zhou’s residence located in the forest villa district. The occupancy was not high but, from what she could tell, there were some families around.

Jiang Jinjin chatted with the butler. “Say how many households are there around?”

Butler Yang was surprised at the question but he replied her truthfully, “There are about 230 mansions nearby.”

The Zhou’s residence was a standalone house and occupying an area of over 1,000 square meters.

Jiang Jinjin looked up this mansion district online. This area was connected to the scenic forest area and it had fresh air and nice sceneries. It was said to have excellent fengshui and was well-liked by many officials and wealthy individuals. In short, everybody living in this area were rich.

Jiang Jinjin eyes rolled around and she asked, “So how many families reside here?”

“We never counted but per the management company, occupancy rate was around 60%.”

That wasn’t bad.

Many villa districts were not fully occupied. Only very few individuals could afford villas in Yenching nowadays. Plus, villa district was usually far from the center of the cities and they were way less popular than, say, small districts or large flats.

The forest villa district had been built almost 20 years ago.

Jiang Jinjin was happy with the number. She had already toured the surrounding.

There was an empty storefront outside of the villa district. There had been others who eyed it in the past but, after she had looked into it some more, she learned that the HOA had set a very bizarre rule some five years ago that only a homeowner in the district could open up a shop here.

It seemed that there had been some unpleasant experience in the past.

This was like an opportunity tailored just for her!
