Lin Tan Tan came to the stairs smoothly. When she was walking down the stairs, the sensor light above her head automatically turned on. Lin Tan Tan was startled and held her breath, but then continued to walk down lightly. She could hear faint noises near the door; looking around, two zombies at the end of the corridor were slamming into a bedroom door, and then there was a screaming ensemble from inside, the sound was so loud that she could hear it from far away.

Lin Tan Tan continued to walk towards the first floor. As soon as she reached the end of the stairs, the smell of blood and rancidity came straight to her face. Not far from the stairs, there was a wide open bedroom door, and a zombie was biting a corpse there. There were long bloody splotches on the ground.     

Lin Tan Tan could imagine that there should have been two people in the dormitory at that time; one suddenly turned into a corpse, and without giving the other party a chance to escape, threw them down as soon as they opened the door.   

When Lin Tan Tan reached the zombie, the other party also raised its head and "looked" over, then decisively throwing away the corpse on the ground, rushed towards Lin Tan Tan with a mouth full of blood.    

Lin Tantan suddenly thought of a line she had read before: Zombies that ate humans would improve in all aspects of attributes, the more they ate, the stronger they would become, and the sooner they would be able to evolve.

So... I did a little research and came to the conclusion that this saying (from the South to the North, swallows fly apart) refers to the fact that when Spring arrives, barn swallows migrate from the South to the North; and in the process, they are separated since they use different paths. So Lin Tan Tan basically meant there was very little chance for her to meet with Ye Xiao since they were in opposite parts of the city.
