Villain Reborn: Netori Harem in an Erotic RPG!

36 Chapter 36: The Crimson Eclipse

From the moment he selected the bloodline, Lucifer felt something strange about the bloodline because his grimoire seemed to change.

Although he couldn't see what changed—it was like those feelings when you see something that feels uncanny or not quite right.

'I wonder why I have a bad feeling...'

[You should have one! Why choose that bloodline...!]

'Ah... it's the grimoire fairy...'

[Grit your teeth!]

[You are about to feel like a ten-tonne stone hammer crushed your body!]

"???"

He didn't understand what she meant.

A bloodline in the game would slightly change your appearance at most and give some skill...

However, he should have listened more closely as a huge black beam of darkness shot down from the sky, enveloping his body before destroying everything around him.

The ground charred the tree's burned into dust, leaving only a huge circle of ash and darkness around his body.

Lucifer's head was forced to look up towards the darkness as it began to pour into his body, his mouth and eyes flooding him with a huge force that truly felt like he was being crushed by several hundred tonnes.

Not ten!

His bones became dust, his flesh like minced beef.

Let's skip the jelly and mush that was his organs as he couldn't even groan before a thick liquid, dark red and flickering with flames, began to seep down the pillar of darkness.

The blood seemed to absorb the surrounding Prana as the creatures watching him exploded as their blood, flesh and Prana were sucked into the pilled and fused with the bubbling red blood...

Even the huge Valkrie in the sky was a super hot version of Gwendolyn with no scar and red eyes...

He wanted to scream out, but nothing listened to him. His arms hung beside him like wet noodles, the skin on his flesh now stained with the heavy darkness that became dense each moment it existed.

There was a scream of pain from a distance as the avatar that looked like Gwen began to shatter and was almost sucked into the blood.

"NO!"

"NOT HER!"

Lucifer's mind screamed, hearing his wife's scream as if by magic... Maybe their connection or his feeling of deja vu.

As if controlled by his intense desire to refuse it, the huge image of Gwen was restored. Instead, the entire fae forest seemed to scream with the animal's and monsters' calls of pain and terror.

Before he could focus anymore, the blood finally arrived on his face...

And he was consumed by the red void.

***

Gwendolyn felt her body crushed when that huge red and black light tower appeared.

The moment her avatar began to crumble and get sucked into that horrible void, she felt fear...

Terror...

Even the memories of her past self and what she was felt that it was dangerous to be consumed by that existence...

Yet...

Suddenly she felt warmth from in the dark...

A gentle and loving hand of black light pushed her away to safety before she found herself back in the shack...

Her radiance is shimmering in the little room with a few things broken or damaged...

However, she felt amazing!

"It seems that almost 30 minutes have passed. Should I still go..." Her eyes looked at the black void that seemed to slowly descend further into the Grand Fae forest, her destination, which made her realise who that black hand and gentle existence that saved her was...

'Darling...!'

Lucifer was there... he chose something for his bloodline. He parted from her because he knew it might cause some trouble!

Gwent left her shack; the town was now in complete disarray with several guards now fully armed, various priests and priestesses marching out of the church holding their hold staves and cudgels following the bishop...

"They seem spooked..." Her gaze turned to the giant void that descended below the tower of light.

'Darling, are you alright? It's me, Gwendolyn...I have arrived.' She thought to herself, avoiding all the guards, although they might not recognise her in her current form; with white wings, red eyes, and pristine face restored to her body encased in glowing silver armour and a long black spear in her right hand, she rushed into the forest.

It was silent...

Errie...

Yet she couldn't see the corpses or bodies of any animals or monsters... even the trees were listless and seemed to start withering—she increased her pace rushing towards the huge black light that was now barely above the forest's tree, seeming to bore into something.

She heard a faint sound...

A familiar voice...

'Gwendolyn... I am so glad you are alright...'

'Darling! You are here! I am coming!' She cried out, her body moving faster than before as she rushed through the forest.

'You mustn't...!'

'Why?!'

'Because I...'

Lucifer's voice faded before a gust of black wind blew her back, causing her to smash into a tree.

Still, the tree became dust upon contact...

Her body felt a strange tingling sensation as if something was constantly stabbing and biting her exposed flesh... the silver armour seemed to rust rapidly, and her clothes tore apart.

Ignoring the fear in the depths of her soul, Gwendolyn sprinted towards that shrinking black light... the red now seemingly faded or had gone somewhere...

"I'm coming, Lucifer! This time I won't leave you alone!"

The black light began to shrink further...

'Gwendolyn...'

"I'm here, darling! I'm here!"

'Don't come closer...!'

"I can't let you do this alone! I promised to be by your side and will keep that promise!"

'No! Don't come any closer!'

"I'm sorry for leaving you alone! Please... stay alive... I love you!"

She kept running...

As the light shrank further below the forest's canopy, the darkness seemed to envelop the area—a black dome formed over the small area inside Grand Fae forest, rendering it completely dark, with only the tiny red spark in the centre to show where the black light was heading.

Finally, she saw a crater within the darkness—the black light entered the ground like a needle puncturing its target, then vanished without a trace.

Gwendolyn fell to her knees, panting heavily—tears started flowing down her cheeks as she began to tremble violently.

"Lucifer...?"

A beautiful man was hovering over a desecrated area... the pants, dirt, trees... everything had rotten or turned to ashes in the wake of the black light that entered his body... a strange pool of blood forming at his feet...

The blood was rotting and seemed impure... Likely his former bloodline.
