Lucifer and Gwen's aerial assault tore through the orc numbers like a knife through soft cheese, cutting them apart with their silver and black lances at times—their attack was like a magical dance, both enchanting and brutal as they held one hand twirling around like fairies fluttering around the enemy lines.

One black, one silver...

Their attack culled over two hundred orcs. Lucifer landed in the centre of the enemy ranks, with Gwendolyn landing to his left, stabbing another orc through the skull before yanking her lance out to continue fighting.

"Gwen, we need to return after killing as many as we can in the next two minutes; their archers and magic casters will be here within three minutes."

"My love, let us go all out; I can use my transformation..."

"No... someone is watching, waiting for us to do that. Forgive me, but use only divine magic and your spear. Come, Let's go!"

Lucifer's spear glowed with a bloody flame as he lunged out, the dozens of orcs facing him, nothing but fodder for him to cull.

Gwendolyn and Lucifer charged straight into the orc ranks, their weapons cutting and piercing through countless orcs, each swing taking multiple lives as they carved a path of destruction through the enemy's frontlines.

The orcs were not weak—they fought hard, desperate even to land a single blow, a small wound on the pair, throwing their bodies, weapons and all they had to kill the two monsters that attacked them.

They failed miserably...

Lucifer and Gwendolyn returned to the wall after slaughtering nearly four hundred orcs in less than two minutes before their ranged forces arrived, flying up to the top of the stone walls before he used the time to barrage the enemy with fireballs once again, double-casting and charge casting to kill as many as possible as they finally managed to reach the walls with dozens of ladders and two siege towers made of metal and stone.

Lucifer waited patiently, gathering his mana to double cast his Fireball spell until they reached the wall, with hundreds climbing ladders and siege towers, causing him to feel a sense that this battle was almost unending....

⁜ Gained three Levels ⁜

He and the women around him were forced to bite their lips as they became one level stronger, almost two, and he reached three levels of power due to the massacre, but it caused him to delay, and the orcs were now on the walls...

The melee, brutal and filled with death, had begun like an organ grinder killing whoever existed on the walls...

"Damn it..."

A hero is not a god...

I cannot be a hero, so let me be a devil! Fight them, thin their ranks and let that woman show her face so I can crush her and make your deaths worth it!

***

A group of human warriors were fighting desperately against the orcs, huge, muscular and towering over them with heavy maces and axes, causing the humans to waver and become fearful of the endless tide of orcs from the forest.

"Yah!"

A male, his name Scott, slashed at an orc to protect his ally, Kevin. The two friends, since children, both orphans, fought side by side with a group of villagers to defend their home!

Scott blocked the Orc's axe with his shield, bashing it with the shield before striking out with his sword, slicing into the thick thigh of the Orc, causing it to roar out in agony, but the muscle was thick, and his arm was too weak to pull the sword...

As four orcs charged in the gap made by Scott moving out of formation, Kevin moved forward to block them, but the orcs were too strong—a brutal mace swiped his body and landed a crushing blow, with Kevin losing his leg, screaming in agony...

In the distance, the Hero, fighting a number incomparable to the ones they fought here... Yet he felt anger and blamed the Hero for not saving him... bleeding out, Kevin cursed the Hero and his friend in his dying moments, wishing it wasn't him to die...

"Kevin!" Scott screamed as he yanked his sword out, severing the Orc's Achilles tendon before plunging his blade into its eye, killing it instantly...

"Kevin! Stay with me!" Scott cried out, holding his childhood friend's hand, tears running down his cheeks as Kevin's breath slowed, "Kill... them... for me..." Kevin choked out before going silent forever...

"Tighten the Formations! The berserkers are coming!"

Berserker—a fearsome subclass of Orc that knows no fear, no pain and only how to kill the enemy with their cruel curved blades and inhumane resilience... they tore through the adventurers and soldiers, biting, tearing, devouring...

"Hurry! Scott! Cassandra!" The captain of the guard shouted as one berserker tore apart their allies like paper towels.

Scott rushed forth with Cassandra, taking up their shields as the berserker approached, his power able to cut a human in half with a mere half swing...

"Hero..."

"Save us, Hero..."

"Why is the Hero not saving us all!?"

Voices of despair rang out as the berserkers tore through Scott and Cassandra, breaking their defences before ripping them to shreds, eating their organs before moving to the other humans...

Lucifer ignored them all, killing orcs faster than they climbed the ladders and siege towers all to protect those behind him, his face now bloody, like a devil from hell. Nothing of the handsome vampire remained, his hair dishevelled and armour half ruined from the fierce battle.

"Darling... the left and right sides are collapsing.... we..." Gwendolyn said weakly, covered in wounds and blood as she held her spear tightly, Lucifer glancing at her, seeing Irina, Estella, and Fel being supported by Marina in the shadows.

Lephalia was fine but exhausted from the constant use of water and ice magic to slow down the orcs.

Lucifer's eyes scanned the battlefield, seeing the left and right sides of the village slowly crumbling and the humans retreating to the centre... being torn apart... their agonised screams... his heart felt weak.

Despite not wanting to be the Hero who could remain calm in front of such carnage and death...

"Marina, hold them off; all of you help the humans in the centre, reinforce the barricade..."

His words were faint, but the commanding tone and his orders were clear as Marina and Fel felt their hearts tremble from the dark eyes of their master, who stepped to the edge of the walls and looked back at Gwendolyn, who looked at him worriedly.

"Lucifer?"

"My dear, do not use your avatar until she attacks me when she lands her first blow... Then kill her with your beautiful form."

The humans meant nothing to him, it was true, but within this group of humans were good people, those that helped him choose the rings and necklace for his beautiful wife and beloved woman... the innkeeper who fed them exactly what they wanted, like magic...

He had begun to feel an attachment to this world and its people as he remembered the two guards from Fallon town...

Especially Jeff...

[Lucifer?]

Well... Celestia, since you asked me to become a Hero, let me do it this once... Make sure you reward me well as I save these fragile believers of yours.

I won't work for free...

Stepping off the wall, he stood, facing the endless amount of orcs charging through the broken wall, as he tossed his spear down and spread his arms.

"O'Sanguine~"

"Fear the blood moon, for I am the Crimson Eclipse."

Instantly, the sky turned jet black, blocking all the stars as the boom began to ooze, becoming blood red as a tall monster stood, causing the orcs to stop their movement.

Instantly, the sky turned jet black, blocking all the stars as the boom began to ooze, becoming blood red as a tall monster stood, causing the orcs to stop their movement.

Raven wings, long black claws twisted and devilish horns... and eyes that were black and red... able to peer into their very existence.

"The Lord of Blood shall be your opponent, Bitch of Blight." Lucifer roared out with a voice deeper than ever before, spreading his arms, allowing his aura to erupt as he began to surge with a terrifying blood flame that wrapped around his entire body, a mixture of black and scarlet red, flowing as if it came from a beating heart.

The veins in Lucifer's body glistened under his perfected pale skin, their dark crimson aura of malice seeping from his pores, causing the area around Lucifer to become destroyed and distorted.

"GRRAHH!" Lucifer roared out, his body exploding with explosive vigour as he shot forward at speeds greater than anything seen before, leaving only a trail of red light in his wake, his Raven wings flapping so fast they sent shockwaves that tore the orcs apart, with every inch as he flew through the orcs, his clawed hands tearing through them effortlessly, their flesh and bones unable to resist his terrifying claws.

Lucifer's movements were akin to a graceful predator hunting its prey, his claws slicing and tearing through the orcs with ease, reducing them to bloody pulps without even stopping!

If before, he was a brutal warrior who slayed over two hundred in a few minutes...

Now he was an evil god, killing nearly a thousand at the same time, all their blood sucked into his body, constantly devouring their Prana to become stronger as his eyes, glowing with unholy light, searched for the woman responsible for this horrific event.

"Where are you, woman? Show yourself to me!"
