Chapter 2 – Number One Under The Heavens

Upon hearing Shen Qingxian’s words, the six disciples all had different thoughts.

Zeng Ziliang: This is bad, this is bad, His Lordship knows that we planned to talk to the demon emperor. His wrath will inevitably double!

The group of four people who had raised their hands: Seconded, seconded.

Only Ye Zhan, who had opposed going to the banquet the entire time, was as satisfied with himself as he could be at this moment: You garbage, just wait to be punished ba!

Since His Lordship had asked, even if they were scared witless, they still had to say something. Zeng Ziliang could only grit his teeth and say, “That demonic…demonic cultivator was indeed the one who sent the invitation.”

Shen Qingxian asked again, “Where will it be held?”

Zeng Ziliang trembled with fear and replied, “At the Final Ashes and Astral Sea.”

This was the boundary between the heavenly dao and the demonic cultivators. If you traveled through the Astral Sea, you were part of the heavenly dao, and if you traveled through the Final Ashes, you were part of the Heart Domain.

Shen Qingxian glanced at them. “Did all of you accept this invitation because you were planning on going to the banquet?”

He finally asked!

It was like the blade hanging above their heads was now falling down and cutting into their necks hard; it hurt so much that there was fresh blood pouring out!

But since things had come to this point, Zeng Ziliang could only honestly report what had happened.

Before he could speak, Ye Zhan took the lead and said, “All of them were planning on going.”

Finally, he could tattle on them. He was nearly a thousand years old, and in his disciples’ disciples and his disciples’ disciples’ disciples’ eyes, he was reserved and serious, but this majestic sect leader had now turned into a seven-year-old child.

Although, in Shen Qingxian’s eyes, these current great powers weren’t that different from young children.

Ye Zhan happily wanted to continue his “criminal report,” but Shen Qingxian asked, “You’re all going?”

“I……” Ye Zhan wanted to express his utter devotion and show that he wouldn’t go even if he was beaten to death, when Shen Qingxian said slowly, “Since you’re all going, I’ll go too.”

Zeng Ziliang suddenly looked up: “!”

Ye Zhan almost didn’t take his next breath!

What was this situation?

The six people’s hearts pounded like drums, and they couldn’t figure out the deeper meaning behind His Lordship’s words.

Shen Qingxian asked again, “When is the banquet to be held?”

Zeng Ziliang replied respectfully, “Seven days from now.”

Shen Qingxian was very satisfied and said, “Alright, all of you go back and prepare first ba.”

Seven days was really a short time for people of the cultivation world, amounting to about the same as a few hours for ordinary people. These disciples were already at the big boss level; they would have to decide who to take, how to go there, and who to entrust with the internal affairs of their sects while they were gone… So they would have to prepare well.

Zeng Ziliang still hadn’t gotten over his shock even by the time they left Wanxiu Mountain.

“Prepare?” Cheng Jing whispered, “How do we prepare?”

He had whispered this, but it still drifted into the ears of the other five people.

Zeng Ziliang’s eyes grew dark, and the cold sweat between his eyebrows poured down; Ye Zhan’s eyes brightened, and he clenched his fists, then rubbed his hands together, as though he was already very excited.

At this moment, all six of them thought they understood His Lordship’s idea!

Ye Zhan said excitedly, “He wants to send that demonic cultivator past the point of no return!”

Zeng Ziliang was always cautious. He closed his eyes and said, “Since that is His Lordship’s intention, we have to make full preparations.”

No wonder His Lordship wasn’t angry when he heard that they were going to the banquet; no wonder His Lordship had asked if Gu Jianshen would be going there.

Seven days from now, a fierce battle would erupt in the Final Ashes and Astral Sea.

However, with Lord Lianhua there, their heavenly dao would have nothing to fear. No matter how arrogant Gu Jiuyuan was, he couldn’t expect to get anything good from His Lordship!

The number one person of the heavenly dao.

The number one person of the Heart Domain.

At this discussion at the Final Ashes and Astral Sea, he was afraid the number one under the heavens would be decided!

“Farewell.” Zeng Ziliang cupped his fist in his other hand and said goodbye to the other five people, who were also all in a hurry, eager to return to their respective sects.

Seven days…it really wasn’t much time.

Although they could only watch if the two of them started to battle it out, they would be in grave danger as long as they were at the scene! Let alone the impractical matter of taking action and helping anyone, what they had to do was try their best to protect themselves and their disciples from being swept to death by the aftershocks!

There was really too little time!

In the Wufang sect, Zeng Ziliang summoned the four elders to open the sect’s secret storehouse and took out the ancient artifact——the Wufang Sword!

At the gate of the Thousand Cranes sect, Cheng Jing walked into the Glacial Valley of Ten Thousand Years and woke up the sound asleep sect guardian divine beast!

At the Immersed Moon sect, Mu Tong consumed countless pills and went into secluded cultivation to conquer the very last level of arcane mystical art. He vowed to break through his bottleneck here in this very short time!

At the gate of the Starry Sect…

The Barrier Ocean Pavillion…

The Meridian Temple….

During this period of time, the six major sects of the cultivation world moved together and took out the magical weapons of their houses one after another in order to survive the coming ancient war to end all wars!

Don’t blame the sect leaders for the big holes in their brains; after all, compared to the truth, their conjecture couldn’t be more normal. It was so normal that it could practically define ‘normal’!

On Wanxiu mountain, within the swirling mist, a small peach blossom filled itself to the brim with spiritual qi and became enlightened. It unfurled its petals, its delicate body breaking away from the branch and floating into the air.

Qianting Hall combined elegance with great achievements. Whether it was its cold jade stairs or its green tiled pavilions, everything was elegant and refined. It wasn’t magnificent or gorgeous, but everyone who saw it naturally calmed down and acted appropriately.

This little flower spirit originally had a mischievous personality, but now it had also grown much more restrained. It followed the rich spiritual aura and caught sight amongst the teeming night orchids of that haunting figure.

By viewing just a side profile, the little flower spirit reached a state of great enlightenment.

A cool wind blew by, and the flower spirit turned into a child and knelt among the flowers. Its sweet and sticky voice was full of devotion and faithfulness. “Lord.”

Shen Qingxian briefly glanced at him and said, “Let’s call you Su Yu in the future ba.”

The child looked happy, kowtowed, and said, “Thanking His Lordship for the name!”

Wanxiu Mountain was a land filled with spiritual essence, and Shen Qingxian also possessed a body full of spiritual energy, so there were often spirits here who reached enlightenment.

Shen Qingxian could tell that it was a peach blossom spirit, so he gave it that name, which was based on “the peach blossoms are red from yesterday’s rain.”

Su Yu wanted to come forward to wait upon him, but Shen Qingxian waved his hand and said, “Go rest ba.”

Su Yu’s face showed regret, but he had to step back.

He just realized that Shen Qingxian was taking pity on him, and was afraid that he had interrupted his lordship’s contemplation.

Of course… Shen Qingxian also had something to do here.

When the little peach blossom left, Shen Qingxian focused on the jade scroll in his hand again.

When he had first seen “First, meet Gu Jianshen,” Shen Qingxian’s thoughts were similar to that of his disciples’. He thought that in order to repair the heavenly ladder, they needed to eliminate the demonic sects and bring things back to the rightful order.

He and Gu Jiuyuan could also be considered old acquaintances. When they were young, they had even been in the same sect for a very short period of time.

At that time, however, Shen Qingxian had already achieved a small breakthrough and had left to cultivate outside. Gu Jiuyuan had stayed on Wanxiu Mountain for two years and then disappeared without a trace.

Shen Qingxian only remembered this because his shifu had once lamented, “A son of heaven, but sadly, a reversed nature.”

At that time, Shen Qingxian hadn’t cared. He hadn’t realized what that meant until his shifu had ascended and the Heart Domain had grown tremendously in strength in the span of a single night.

Gu Jiuyuan had exceptional talent, but was completely rebellious.

Wanxiu Mountain’s cultivators were all part of the righteous sect, but he was filled with questions, caring only about himself.

With the heart and the dao in conflict, it was hard to make a breakthrough; they had thought that he would fall there, but they hadn’t expected him to find another way and blossom in the Heart Domain.

After that, Shen Qingxian didn’t see him much, but that name became engraved in his heart.

It couldn’t be that…the heavenly dao wanted him to kill this unfilial disciple with his own hands?

Just as he thought that, a line of words appeared on the jade scroll. “Second, share drinks and get drunk with Gu Jianshen.”

Shen Qingxian pondered for a bit: Take his life while he was drunk?

Not long after, another line of words appeared on the jade scroll: “Third, travel together with Gu Jianshen to the Final Ashes and Astral Sea.”

Shen Qingxian: Drown him in the Astral Sea? That was actually a good goal.

The jade scroll couldn’t bear it, and so another sentence appeared: “Fourth, do not harbor the intent to kill Gu Jianshen.”

Shen Qingxian: “……”

After having created this many sentences in one go, the jade scroll was also tired. The light that had been continuously flashing on it until now went out.

Shen Qingxian thought again: So it’s not killing him, but getting him to convert back to the right path.

No new words appeared on the jade scroll this time; it seemed it was really “tired.”

But that was enough, Shen Qingxian had already gotten what he had wanted.

It seemed that as long as it wasn’t glowing, it couldn’t spy on his thoughts.

Shen Qingxian gently stroked the jade scroll, a smile at the corner of his mouth.

It was actually an interesting thing, being able to enter the sea of his thoughts.

Repairing the heavenly ladder?

Then let’s try this first ba.

Seven days passed by in the blink of an eye. His disciples, disciples’ disciples, and disciples’ disciples’ disciples were all ready in full battle array and awaiting orders, pretty much showing the highest combat effectiveness of the heavenly dao.

Walking into the Astral Sea, under the glittering light, everyone bowed and made their obesiances.

Shen Qingxian was dressed simply, both pure and plain, but still managed to outshine the supreme brilliance of the Astral Sea.

No one dared to look at Lord Lianhua’s appearance, and there was no need to look at him; in front of supreme power, everything else was in vain.

The Astral Sea was azure blue, while the Final Ashes were pitch black.

A touch of white light on the plain of azure blue became the brightest light.

A touch of crimson in the pitch black darkness became the most domineering existence.
