Chapter 18.2 – Boyfriend

Half an hour later, the doorbell rang, and the whole family went to the door to meet Su Jianye and his family. Unexpectedly, there were four people instead of three, surprising Su Jianan’s family. Apart from Su Jianye, Chen Baihui, and their daughter, Su Qian, there was a tall, thin young man in a white shirt and suit trousers.

“Who is this?” Su Jianan asked in a puzzled voice.

Su Jianye said with a proud smile, “He is our Qianqian’s boyfriend, who is a graduate student.”

The four of them, who had come empty-handed, entered the house without changing their shoes.

Su Yan and Su Zhan glanced at each other silently and rolled their eyes at the same time.

After Liu Xiang closed the door, Su Jianye’s wife, Chen Baihui, introduced her daughter’s boyfriend to their family again solemnly, “This is Lin Chuanhao, our Qianqian’s boyfriend. Just call him Xiaolin.” After speaking, she turned to look at Mrs. Su and introduced him again, “This is Grandma.”

Lin Chuanhao immediately smiled politely at Mrs. Su. “Hi, Grandma.”

Lin Chuanhao looked like a gentle and easy-going person. What’s more, he was also the boyfriend of her precious granddaughter, so Mrs. Su immediately liked him very much.

“Hey, hey, hello, hello! You are so handsome, and you are a graduate student. Our Qianqian has a good eye!” she said, smiling from ear to ear.

The words went in a circle, and in the end, they went all the way to praise her precious granddaughter.

Seeing this situation, unknowingly, Su Yan’s thoughts drifted back to the first time she brought Xie Yu home. The old lady didn’t have such a nice attitude that day, and when Xie Yu greeted her, she just said, “Um”.

Xie Yu didn’t come empty-handed either, he even bought a pair of gold bracelets and a pair of emerald bracelets for the old lady, but he didn’t get a bright smile from her like Lin Chuanhao, who had come empty-handed.

What’s even more irritating was that after Xie  Yu left, the old lady said, “Your aunt said that now domestic companies don’t recognise foreign education, and he has studied abroad. What’s the use? His family conditions are a little better, otherwise, he won’t even be able to find a job, and you won’t have any prospects at all, and only a girl like you who has never seen the market can like someone like that.”

Although she had nothing to do with Xie Yu now, she was still irritated by her grandma’s eccentric attitude.

After Chen Baihui introduced grandma to Lin Chuanhao, she introduced Su Jianan and Liu Xiang respectively. Lin Chuanhao nodded and said hello to him one by one.

Finally, Chen Baihui introduced Su Yan and Su Zhan to Lin Chuanhao. “This is Qianqian’s brother, Su Zhan, and this is Qianqian’s sister.”

The introduction was concise as if someone would deduct money from her if she said one more word, especially when introducing Su Yan—she didn’t even say her name.

Lin Chuanhao said hello as usual, but this time he stretched out his right hand to Su Yan. “Hello.”

Su Yan was stunned and quickly reached out to shake hands. “Hello.” Only then did she notice that Lin Chuanhao had a pair of slender red phoenix eyes, a bit like a male lead in a Korean drama, but his eyes were not as gentle and polite as the male lead. He looked a little… treacherous.

Although she knew that judging people by their appearance was wrong, that was how she felt.

Afterward, Lin Chuanhao stretched out his hand to Su Zhan again, saying, “Hello.”

Su Zhan didn’t understand why he suddenly became formal, so he could only shake hands with him.

After the greeting part was over, Liu Xiang led the family of four to the living room. Taking advantage of this moment, Su Jianan lowered his voice and said to his daughter, “Go upstairs and change your clothes!” with a very stern voice.

“Oh.” Su Yan didn’t argue with her father this time and obediently went upstairs to change clothes.

Su Yan closed the door after returning to her room and took out a loose black short-sleeved dress from the wardrobe and threw it on the bed, then took off the yellow top with both hands.

There were two layers of bed curtains in the bedroom: the inner layer was a sheer curtain, and the outer layer was a blackout curtain.

Su Yan only opened the outer curtain and welcomed the golden sunlight coming through the curtain.

In this hazy light and shadow, her skin was so white that it glowed, and her whole body seemed to have been soaked in milk.

She sighed and took the dress from the bed and wore it.

In fact, the neckline of the top she previously wore was not very low, but because she was a little well-developed, the cleavage was vaguely shown. If she wore it in front of her family, she would not feel that there was anything inappropriate. But if a strange man came to her home and saw her like this, then she would feel a little strange, as if she had been broken from her comfort zone.

After changing her clothes, she left the room, and as soon as she reached the stairs, she bumped into the silly Baitian, who was sitting on the third step from the top.

“Why are you sitting here?” Su Yan asked.

Su Zhan: “I don’t want to hear those two brags.

Su Yan: “…”

Su Zhan snorted again with disdain. “Isn’t it just to be admitted as a civil servant! They just brag like it is going to go to heaven! Those who didn’t know will think that Su Qian was going to enter the palace and become the queen. ”

“Hahahahahaha Haha!”  Su Yan almost died of laughter.

Su Zhan continued to complain, “It’s okay for their family to come here empty-handed for dinner, but for grandma’s birthday? They are not even embarrassed?”

Su Yan rolled her eyes. “They not only came empty-handed but also dragged a man to show off.”

Su Zhan gritted his teeth. “Damn, you’re so good at living!”
