Chapter 24.1 – Taste

If there was no one to vent to when they were wronged, they could remain strong and swallow their resentment; if there was someone they were able to reach and complain to, their resentment would vanish in an instant. 

Su Yan was in such a situation now, feeling that she was about to be wronged to death, crying like a small child; the tears that gushed out of her eyes were bigger than soybeans.

“What’s wrong? Who bullied you?” Panicked, Bai Xingfan asked hurriedly.

Su Yan cried out of breath. “Director, director, actor, woo woo woo woo… They want to change my script, the script of the play. Woooooooo…”

Bai Xingfan’s face darkened. “The director bullied you?”

Director: “…”

“H..e… he… wants to change my script, I won’t let him change, and he scolded me, woo woo woo woo…” Su Yan choked while crying.

Bai Xingfan repeatedly comforted Su Yan, saying, “Then let’s replace the director with someone who would listen to you, okay?”

The assistant quickly found a packet of tissues in the briefcase and handed it to his boss.

Bai Xingfan took one, folded it into a square, first wiped Su Yan’s tears, then wrapped her nose with a tissue, gently pinched the tip of her nose, and wiped her snot. ” Don’t worry, no one would dare to change your script,” he gently coaxed her.

Su Yan no longer cried her heart out, but she was still sobbing.

“Have you had lunch yet? Shall I take you to eat delicious food?” Bai Xingfan asked.

Su Yan didn’t want to stay here any longer to face the scorching gazes of others, so she nodded, muttering, “Okay.”

“Let’s go.” Bai Xingfan took Su Yan a few steps towards the exit of the studio, suddenly thought of something, paused, looked back at the few people standing in front of the monitor, and asked in a deep voice, “Which one is the director?”

On such a hot day, Director Wu suddenly felt cold behind his back, subconsciously pausing his breath. While he was thinking about whether to admit that he was the director or not, he saw everyone around him was looking at him, so he had no choice but to say, “It’s me, what’s wrong?”

Bai Xingfan “You won’t be here anymore.”

The director frowned. “Who are you?”

Bai Xingfan said coldly, “Call and ask Li Juncheng yourself.”

Li Juncheng was currently the first person in charge of Yuantang Film and Television City.

The director froze, his eyes gradually widened, and he looked at Bai Xingfan in shock and astonishment.

“Bai, Boss Bai…” The director wanted to step forward to defend himself, but Bai Xingfan didn’t give him a chance to intercede and left the set with Su Yan.

Sitting in Bai Xingfan’s car, enjoying the refreshing cold air, Su Yan realised what had happened just now, and then looked at Bai Xingfan with a small red face. “I… just… Isn’t it embarrassing?”

Bai Xingfan held back a smile and said, “No, it’s quite cute.”

Su Yan: “…”

Su Yan wanted to cry again. “Why do I feel that you are lying to me?”

Bai Xingfan said seriously, “Is there any benefit if I lie to Miss Su?”

Su Yan was silent for a moment and replied in a small voice, “It…seems not.”

Bai Xingfan: “Then why should I lie to you?”

Su Yan: “…”

At this time, the driver asked, “President Bai, where are you going now?”

Bai Xingfan looked at Su Yan again. “What do you want to eat?”

Su Yan sniffed. “I can eat anything. Choose what you like. ”

Bai Xingfan: “How can I do that? Miss Su is going to treat me, of course, Miss Su has the final say.”

Su Yan was stunned. “I, I, when did I say I wanted to treat you?”

Bai Xingfan frowned. “Didn’t this lady tell me that she would treat me to dinner when I came back from abroad?”

“Ah, why did I forget it.’  “You said just now that you would take me to eat delicious food…” After saying this, she felt that this kind of talking with Bai Xingfan was a bit shameless, so she immediately said, “Ok, Mr. Bai, if I promise, I will fulfill that.”

Bai Xing couldn’t help laughing. “Thank you, Miss Su.”

“Stop teasing me.” Su Yan thought of something again, and immediately added, “I can’t afford one that’s too expensive.” Although it was embarrassing to expose her poverty so blatantly, what if Bai Xingfan only wanted to eat high-end food in five-star hotels? She really couldn’t afford it!

Bai Xingfan: “I will go wherever Ms. Su leads me to eat.”
