About the Time I Picked up an Angel in the Park and She Said “I Like You”

“It’s almost time for our school trip, so let’s decide where we’re going to do our fieldwork and free activities.”

The homeroom teacher called out to us in class in a sleepy voice. Forming groups was left to us. My group was Takuto, Chinatsu, Kaede, and me.

Well…It was left to the students, so forming a group with someone I like was normal.

“Where do you want to go, Chinatsu?”

Takuto asked Chinatsu and she looked at the guidebook with sparkling eyes.

“Kyoto huh, there are so many good places.”

“It’s a famous sightseeing spot, isn’t it?”

“I want to go here!!”

Saying that, Chinatsu pointed her finger at the guidebooks one after another.

“Aren’t all of those stores?”

“Eh~, that’s fine~…”

“Ahhhh~, Chinatsu’s mood has dropped.”

Takuto said that and made it sound like I did something wrong. I didn’t mean to deny everything.

“I wanted to say you can’t visit all of them. It doesn’t mean not visiting it….”

When I said this, Chinatsu showed me her sparkling eyes and slightly smirking mouth as if she were looking at a prey caught in a trap.

“Then …… you mean we can go around a few places, right?”

“What, ……? Well, that’ll do.”

“Yay! So here and here!”

“What? Wait a minute.”

I didn’t understand it because it came out of nowhere, but she was really excited. She was snorting a lot.

However, it was our group leader who was troubled by such a sudden decision.

“We all have to decide together.”

“Even though you said it’s fine, Ren…”

“That’s …… true, but…”

“I’m fine~”

“I think two places are enough for me, too.”

The other two agreed to Chinatsu’s proposal, or rather where Chinatsu wanted to go, so it was just me …

As I was thinking that, Chinatsu gazed at me with her watery eyes.

As you can imagine, I thought it would be pitiful to refuse this. I was going to go along with the other two if they said yes.

“It’s thanks to everyone’s cooperation!”

Saying this, Chinatsu was overjoyed, smiling and the corners of her mouth rising all the way up.

“Cooperation ……?”

“If we hadn’t said yes, you would have opposed the place where Chinatsu wants to go.”

“So, Kaede-san and I decided to approve of the place Chinatsu suggested.”

Both of them were in on it from the beginning. I mean, am I that untrustworthy ……?

I felt a little complicated when I thought about it, I felt like I was the only one left out.

“In return,……, we decided to go wherever you wanted to go.”

“B..But you two…”

“I’m fine anywhere as long as I get to hang out with Chinatsu.”

“I-I’m fine, too.”

“Then …”

I thought about it for a moment… or rather, I pretended to think, I had already decided. But Takuto and Chinatsu would tease me if I told them right away, so I pretended to think about it.

“I want to go to Kiyomizu Temple ……”

“Sounds great!”

“Yeah! I think it’s good.”

“Don’t tell me you chose…. Kiyomizu Temple because Kaede’s last name has Mizu in it?”

Takuto noticed things that he didn’t need to notice. I really resented this guy’s intuition at times like this.

“Don’t do it, Sir… Even Ren is embarrassed.” Chinatsu said,

“That’s rude”

And they were laughing at me, teasing me.

“Kiyomizu temple it is then!”

“O-Of course.”

I sighed as I thought to myself, “…… damn these guys,” and Kaede brought her mouth close to my ear

“It’s really nice.”

She said, I was so taken aback by her sudden action that I pulled my chair back as hard as I could.

Kaede looked at me and giggled. Chinatsu and Takuto were looking at us with a strange look on their faces, their eyes fluttering.

“Then let’s just think of some other places to go!”

“Oh!”

“Yes!”

“Ah!”

For some reason, the three of them were very pumped up, raising their arms above their heads, whereas I couldn’t keep up with them, so I said in a small voice, without even raising my arms.

“There’s one guy who doesn’t have enough vigor.”

“Ren-kun? In times like this, it’s better to have fun together, right?”

“No…I’m tired”.

“When we get back, I’ll make you something you like, Ren-kun, so let’s work a little harder, okay?”

“Well, if Kaede says so.”

After that, I did my best to keep up with Takuto and Chinatsu’s excitement. I had to reaffirm that excitement among high school girl was a frightening thing.

However, I was excited that school life like this would be good, and that the school trip would be fun even though it was still a long way off.
