Episode 29 – I Like You

After I went to get some things, I was back in front of Rina san’s room again.

After taking a breath, I knocked.

I won’t make the same mistake like before, I waited for a response from inside the room this time.

However, even after ten seconds, there was no answer.

I fearfully put my hand on the doorknob.

“……Hiks”

When I entered the room, I found Rina san crying in silence.

“R-rina-san? Are you okay !?”

“……I’m not okay.”

In a hoarse voice, Rina san answered while sobbing.

“E-erm……what should I do…..?”

“Don’t leave me alone.”

Rina san muttered a few words.

My heart jumped.

I sat down on a nearby chair and clasped Rina san’s left hand with my right hand.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel lonely.”

“…I felt lonely. I thought Takuto kun would go away again.”

Is it because of the heat?

Rina san became unusually honest  and revealed what’s on her mind.

“I’m not going anywhere. I will always stay by your side.”

“I can’t believe it with just words.”

Rina san said seriously.

That’s right.

If it’s just words, you can say anything you want to say.

It is easy to say.

That’s why I’m going to show you with my actions.

I held out a piece of paper that I hid behind my back to Rina san.

“Will you take this?”

Rina san opened and closed her eyes with a flutter.

After staring dumbfoundedly for a while, she took the paper from me.

“M-marriage registration?”

“Yes. I got it a while ago.”

I went to the city hall to get it.

Of course, at my age, I can’t get married yet.

It may not mean much.

“I already filled out the form. I really like you, Rina san.”

“T-Takuto-kun……”

“I even want to marry you. I want to be with you forever. That’s what I think.”

“…………”

A line of water dripped down on Rina san’s cheek.

Rina san’s cheeks blushed and she looked down.

“Takuto kun, are you crazy?

“I-is that so?”

“Yeah, it’s too heavy. we’re still in high school and you’re handing me a marriage registration, you’re crazy.”

“Ugh……”

But this is the only thing I could think of.

“Besides, you shouldn’t give me this. Takuto kun , the moment you turn 18, turn it in to the government, okay?”

“I-I don’t mind. I will !”

I said strongly as I leaned forward.

“It’s okay…….”

“Y-yes !”

“W-well, I can’t marry you with just this though. I think I needed some kind of ID or something like that.

“Oh, that’s right……”

But right now, it’s really difficult to hand over my ID to Rina san.

It interferes with my daily life.

“I don’t think I’m the kind of girl you think I am, Takuto kun. I’m selfish, envious and troublesome. If you knew my true self, you would hate me, I’m sure.”

Rina san asked me with her voice tinged with anxiety.

Rina- an was cute, fun to talk to, and I thought we were a good match anyway.

With her, I would be able to live happily ever after.

That’s the kind of intuition that I have.

Besides, I know the old Rina san. Well, I can’t say that I’m a big fan of her because I had forgotten about her until recently.

When I first met Rina san, she was selfish in many ways.

She took me around to various places, monopolized me, and was a little depressing.

But I remember that I really enjoyed those times.

“It’s okay, I like you, Rina san, no matter what kind of person you are. I will never run out of love for you.”

That’s why I answered Rina-san’s question without hesitation.

Rina san’s eyes widened slightly.

She grasped my hand a number of times.

“Do you really like me?

“I like you. I will love you for the rest of my life.”

Rina san’s face blushed even more.

“I don’t care if you regret it.”

“I won’t.”

Rina san’s self-esteem is surprisingly low.

I misunderstood her for a person who has  a lot of self-confidence.

I can’t help but be happy to know a side of the girl I like that I didn’t know.

Rina san covered herself inside the futon deeply and only let her eyes peek.

“…Will you stay by my side for the rest of the day?”

“I will, always.”

“I see.”

“Yes.”

Rina san let out a sigh of relief and closed her eyes.

It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep.
