Chapter 62.1

Suspension

Before they could even try to ascertain Lu Yao’s calmness, that grade S male they’ve been waiting for has rushed forth by himself.

Bai Jiawen takes a deep breath, just in case he might faint from suffocation due to forgetting to breathe from the anxiety, and then calls Lu Yao to tell him his grandson went to fight the pirates alone. And quite possibly, his grandson-in-law has decided to follow suit.

“You don’t have to worry that much,” the Chairman of Chief Command pats Bai Jiawen on the shoulder, “we don’t know the true limits of a grade S shemale’s capability either. He isn’t doomed yet.”

“But Cheng Zhaoci went after him!” Bai Jiawen can’t help but yell. What kind of decision-making led to that outcome?! “This makes no sense! This makes no sense at all!”

“This makes no fucking sense at all!” Blasts an irate Jin Yue, “why won’t he die?!”

After Wei Zhuo has willingly stepped into the killzone, he kept his shields up while going straight for the kill himself – finally blowing up that spaceship that led him here. Yes. It was blown up.

He also nimbly dodged all the debris with uncanny dexterity. The inferno did not affect him the slightest. Is this even normal? Is he still in the realm of insectoids?

“He wasn’t this resilient when fighting in training…” Sun Wushe is furrowing his brows as he watches Wei Zhuo dodge another kinetic particle cannonshot and is heading straight for them, “he might not have been fighting with his full strength then.”

Does Wei Zhuo know he and Jin Yue are right here? Or he might have figured it out from the configuration of the fleet.

“Fuck!” Jin Yue has switched to manually piloting the carrier while ordering the other vessels to stop Wei Zhuo, “I don’t even know if I’m the fucking insane one here or him!”

There is definitely a gap between a grade A and grade S in physical aptitude, which is common knowledge. Though exactly how large the gap is, no one really knows. Especially when the grade S shemale hasn’t been using his full strength with full aggressiveness up to that point.

“Have everyone on the carrier get out on their mechas!” Sun Wushe gets up, shouting, “quick!”

“Out what? To fight head-on with the crazed Wei Zhuo?!” Jin Yue is pulling at his hair again; he feels like he’d go bald again in a few more times.

“Distraction! Do you even know what distraction is?! If this carrier is sunk, we’re toast for sure!” And the carrier is really big and obvious a target, “get everyone to disperse for fuck’s sake!”

It is quite harrowing when you’re hunting with all-new, advanced weaponry, only to find it’s completely ineffective against the beast hunted. Because, quite likely, the position of prey and predator would be switched in a second, and you’d get torn to pieces.

Jin Yue and the rest of the fleet have kept their position highly secretive up to this point, and are generally confident in this trap as well. They know that Wei Zhuo isn’t as calm and collected inside as he normally appears to be, and so they were the most on guard against reinforcements from the Federation forces.

Unfortunately, there was a miscalculation in Wei Zhuo’s true strength on the battlefield which he has never shown before. His sharp battlefield senses and offensive capability never had the chance to show themselves as he didn’t exactly have an edge for others to push him over.

Now, though, he has one. And they pushed him over to snapping point.

Wei Zhuo’s target is clear as well – Jin Yue and Sun Wushe. If both of them were gone, the patchwork of allied pirate organisations would fall to chaos for sure.

“I’m not going! I have to kill him!” Jin Yue doesn’t want to run away anymore. Backing away every time Wei Zhuo is approaching? He’s no coward!
“Grade S? So what?! Who does he think he is?!” Jin Yue grits his teeth, “even grade S are mortal!”

Not just the pirates who are fighting Wei Zhuo head-on, but even the President, following the action in real time, is quite perplexed, “why is he going right after that one carrier?”

“He probably figured the leader of the buccaneers is there,” the Chairman is checking the fleet formation information carefully, and then nods, “I also suspect Jin Yue is there. Their response to Wei Zhuo’s advances also confirms that important insectoids must be inside. Even if not Jin Yue and Sun Wushe themselves, someone important is inside.”

Shemales really are natural warriors, especially grade S ones.

“Patch me through! I’m gonna rip his head right off when the bastard is back!!!” The generally amicable Marshal’s face is grim like the reaper, “what does he think standing orders are?! He’s a Group Captain for goodness sake! Does he know what he’s doing?!”
“This is a fucking mystery, it is! I never knew he had a reckless side to him!” The Marshal is complaining while smacking Meng Yuele on the back of his head, “get searching! And you! You should’ve stopped him! You just watched when he took off?!”

Meng Yuele is dissing inside that if he could stop him, he wouldn’t have been a mere grade A shemale. While observing the livestream’s background to identify the stellar region the battle with Wei Zhuo is taking place in, there is a loud roar. Shocked, Meng Yuele looks outside, and with many other shemale soldier witnesses, sees a black mecha shoot out and leave from the spaceship that no insectoid has emerged from.

At the same time, the Marshal receives an emergency order from high command – ‘Evidence suggests the male may be agitated emotionally. Do not allow the male near his onboard mecha; restrain if he attempts to pilot it.’

Though the advanced mecha is already flying in interstellar space at this point.

“… Hey. Question. How proficient is that male with mechas?” The Marshal’s voice is trembling in places. Meng Yuele has also realised, and his expression is one of hopelessness, “rubbish. He can’t win against the starter AI.”

Cheng Zhaoci is taken by a strange mood right now. His head hurts so much it could explode, but he also has an exceptional clarity to his perception of the surroundings. Lots of memories are flashing through his mind.

He thinks he might be Awakening. While also angry. He knows he is behaving irrationally, or at least, he knows his normal self wouldn’t take the huge precarious risk of just rushing off with a mecha to find an insectoid in an active battle. He knows how well he can handle a mecha already.

But now, he is simply copying all the moves Wei Zhuo employed that he can remember seeing in the virtual mecha fights, and using them.

A grade S male’s memory performance is sublime. He is also controlling his hands and fingers much more deftly, though not to the insane degree that Wei Zhuo could.

Nor does Cheng Zhaoci expect to achieve anything with his abysmal performance; instead, he is banking on the fact that the First Research Institute put utmost priority on the defence capabilities of this mecha. That means he is probably able to drag that damned Wei Zhuo back out without too much trouble.
