Meanwhile, Jin Yue has actually received a communication request from Wei Zhuo.

“Don’t!” Yells Sun Wushe, trying to stop Jin Yue, but the mental insectoid has already accepted it.

Wei Zhuo’s hologram projection is already here, staring at Jin Yue, “I might be crippled by your trap, but you, are going to die,” the tone is rather monotonous, as if he was simply notifying him.

“Huh? Die? That’s rich. All these years, you see anyone who’s successfully killed me the fuck off? Even if I’m going to die, you’re coming with me!” Jin Yue is laughing, maniacally.

“Careful!” Sun Wushe pushes Jin Yue aside to grab the steering wheel, pushing the thrusters down as much as they would go. The next moment, a protonic beam practically singed the upper casing of the top of the vessel.

That’s when Wei Zhuo finally gives Sun Wushe a glance. The eyes are cold.
“Looks like I’ve found the cockpit.”

“You fucking tricked me!” Jin Yue fell down from the push, and he’s scrambling back up right now.

However, Wei Zhuo has already cut off the call.

Sun Wushe takes a deep breath, then yells at Jin Yue, “I told you not to pick it up!”

“Go,” Jin Yue’s face suddenly switches from boiling anger to cold apathy.

Sun Wushe is quite surprised, “what?”

“I said, go. In the mecha. The two of us,” Jin Yue is patting his own clothes down, “start the self-destruct sequence.”

“There are still insectoids on here!”

“Barely any of them truly important. They will be worthy martyrs in the death of Wei Zhuo,” Jin Yue is already turning around to leave, “get a move on! And order the rest of the fleet to retreat!”

“… Got it,” Sun Wushe has no time to hesitate. He can only run after Jin Yue.

“Trying to flee?” Wei Zhuo notices, and tries to push in further, but then comes to a stop as soon as he notices a mecha coming from behind. A sneak attack?!

Wei Zhuo turns around, only to freeze in shock when he sees the mecha’s appearance. He knows this. This is He Huaijian’s birthday present for Cheng Zhaoci.

He just stands there, nonplussed, when the mecha slaps Wei Zhuo’s mecha right in the face. That’s also when Wei Zhuo receives a communication request from it.

His own boiling anger is suddenly nowhere to be found. Instead, he finds himself hesitating to accept the call. He still has to push accept, though, no matter how much he wants to hide in a hole right now.

The mecha’s pilot is Cheng Zhaoci, as expected.

Before Cheng Zhaoci can speak, though, Wei Zhuo’s senses are tingling. He notices that Jin Yue’s carrier is not only defying the others’ retreat, but is rushing right for him.

Without time to think, he grabs Cheng Zhaoci’s mecha, and flies as quickly as possible in the opposite direction.

The mecha explodes without even making a sound in the vacuum of space, but the impact will be enormous. Wei Zhuo is not in the clear at all, so he tries to shield Cheng Zhaoci’s mecha with his own by reflex, but suddenly, Cheng Zhaoci’s mecha has produced a shield.

The President was right. The defence mechanism made by the First Research Institute’s most resilient little buggers lived up to its name. The explosion did not so much as leave a dent on either mecha.

“Let go,” Cheng Zhaoci orders coldly – cold enough to spook Wei Zhuo.

He carefully lets Cheng Zhaoci’s mecha go, only to see Cheng Zhaoci’s hologram take a deep breath, and start berating him, “how brave. Amazing. You were facing off against an entire pirate fleet all by yourself. I didn’t know you’ve already become immortal.”

Wei Zhuo hangs his head in shame and doesn’t talk back at all. He isn’t immortal; he’s also scared of dying. He was just too angry, and since the fleet wasn’t Jin Yue’s Golden Lion alone, if he dies, they’ll fall to chaos for sure…

“That explosion! Tell me, without my shield. What would happen?!” Cheng Zhaoci’s volume is increasing.

“I’ll be injured,” Wei Zhuo hangs his head even lower.

“Injured? Is that all?”

“… Gravely injured,” Wei Zhuo doesn’t even dare breathe anymore, haven’t never seen Cheng Zhaoci like this. The Cheng Zhaoci he knows has always been kind and gentle, while enjoying the occasional tease or two. Yet he is really amicable underneath. He has never seen him angry.

Cheng Zhaoci feels like his head is going to explode. He puts his hand on his forehead, rubbing a little.

“Uh, are, are you not feeling well?” Cheng Zhaoci’s discomfort is clear enough even Wei Zhuo has noticed through the hologram. He becomes anxious.

Cheng Zhaoci is smiling at him really coldly, “I Awakened. And you? You were busy going off to fight alone. Leaving me behind,” honestly, it almost sounds melodramatic. Not that Cheng Zhaoci can help it right now.

“Awaken?! I…” Wei Zhuo is interrupted promptly, “shut up!”

Then Wei Zhuo’s mecha is dragged by the neck back the way they came.
All the way to the base.
And all the way to that private military spaceship.

Cheng Zhaoci sends a message to the Marshal, telling him that his Awakening is in full swing. Considering the circumstances, he won’t be able to relinquish Wei Zhuo for a while.

The grade S shemale Wei Zhuo was extremely cooperative when dragged out of his mecha, and he transitions smoothly into a kneeling posture on the ground, “I’m sorry. My reckless and inattentive behaviour is to blame for this…”

Cheng Zhaoci might not have Awakened so suddenly if not for his unthinking actions, though he wasn’t sure how Cheng Zhaoci knew in the first place.

Cheng Zhaoci, meanwhile, knows his mind is irrational right now. Especially with safety reassured, his head is both throbbing and threatening to lose consciousness entirely from his current state of hyperawareness.

Wei Zhuo is still recounting every single misdeed he took when something falls on him; he falls backwards from the unexpected push.

Cheng Zhaoci is pushing on him; despite the unnatural position, Wei Zhuo is still able to hold himself together without issue. He observes Cheng Zhaoci; his breathing is haggard, and then Cheng Zhaoci puts a hand on his mouth, saying, “you lost your cool because of that fake ‘Cheng Zhaoci’? Then what about me? What was I to do if something happened to you?”

Wei Zhuo doesn’t know how to explain himself. That he thought he could hold his own without losing his life? That the buccaneer organisations are not unified and they’d falter if he could kill Jin Yue? These are all just hypotheticals.

“What was I to do?” Cheng Zhaoci is probably being affected quite badly by his chaotic mind, and actually starts shedding tears and pouting.

Wei Zhuo is panicking now, and when Cheng Zhaoci finally moves his hand away to allow him to speak, he says, “I’m really sorry! I… ah!”

Cheng Zhaoci’s leg is pushing on a rather particular location on Wei Zhuo’s body.
