Su Jiaojiao pushed away Song Qinghan and walked towards the doorway. She replied, “Ok, Mum. Remember to come here for lunch with Dad.”

“I will,” Sun Fang said. Then, she used a ladle to get some water (???) before leaving.

After she left, Su Jiaojiao lowered her head and touched her burning cheeks, afraid to raise her hand. She was using the back of her hand to try and cool down the burning sensation she felt continuously.

Song Qinghan, who was behind her, patted her shoulders, “Sorry for inconveniencing you, I’ll go make lunch. Just sit down and rest down for a bit.”

“Ok,” Su Jiaojiao replied, biting her lip. After that, she actually went to sit down and rest for a bit. After all, Song Qinghan would be able to make a simple meal after watching her cook for so long, even if his culinary skills are average.

(This was the remainder of Chapter 37 I didn’t TL)

Mission 13 was slightly more problematic for Su Jiaojiao to complete. However, it was still doable if she took it more seriously and worked on it a bit longer.

No one had ordered any food from her recently, so she took advantage of these days to make her own underwear and complete the task. It was more complicated to make female underwear because she had to make two pieces of clothing per set instead of one. It was lucky that she had a blueprint to follow; however, it still took her two days. The quality of the underwear she made was adequate, owing to the fact she had a good grasp of her own measurements.

The first set was admittedly quite ugly, but the other two came out just fine.

It was quite apparent that Song Qinghan liked the clothing Su Jiaojiao had made for him. He had washed them and dried them that very afternoon. After letting it dry, he immediately retrieved them and put them back in the house.

He changed into them the same night, emitting a joyous feeling. However, it really was a bit too small, so he felt a little stifled when he was wearing them.

Su Jiaojiao hadn’t finished her own set, so she could only look at him wear his clothes. Thankfully, Song Qinghan was able to fish an entire basket’s worth of crayfish in a single day, and all of them were rather large, which appeased her.

Nowadays, most households wouldn’t eat crayfish because preparing them took a lot of ingredients and oil. Not many people could afford to use that many. But Su Jiaojiao could. Therefore, she made stir-fried crayfish that night. She didn’t have any pepper, and the taste was relatively lacking. However, the crayfish was still scrumptious after Su Jiaojiao finished cooking it. (???)

Su Jiaojiao was so overjoyed she even ate an extra bowl of food. She hadn’t eaten anything with such a savoury flavour in a long time.

As he saw that Su Jiaojiao seemed delighted, Song Qinghan decided to caught more crayfish the next day, and didn’t return home until he had a large basket of them.

When Aunt Wong, their neighbour, walked over because she wanted to know what smelled so good, she shook her head and left in defeat. It wouldn’t be economical to spend so much oil on a meal.

On the other hand, Zhao Sisi really liked the crayfish. Unfortunately for her, Su Jiaojiao and Song Qinghan didn’t even have enough for themselves because they weren’t using a net to catch the crayfish, but a fishing rod to fish them up one by one. It was really challenging to get a single basket of crayfish every day.

However, seeing as Zhao Sisi was a regular, Su Jiaojiao gave her a small bowl of crayfish.

(Another logical breakpoint, but word count triumphs.)

It was almost time for the second harvest. Song Qinghan’s leg still hadn’t healed completely, while Su Jiaojiao wasn’t good at physical labour and thus was unwilling to work. Wang Jianye had asked them if they wanted a job, but he gave up after seeing that they were unwilling. He wouldn’t want to hinder them more than help, after all.

However, Song Qinghan didn’t feel at ease when he wasn’t working, and probably would’ve gone to work if Su Jiaojiao hadn’t stopped him. To occupy him and prevent him from trying to find a job, she decided to get some melon seeds from the system marketplace and tell him to plant them. It happened to be the perfect time to grow melons, and they would be ripe in about two months.

The small plot of land behind their house was a small plot of farmland, but they never had a chance to use it. Now Song Qinghan had a job to do, he ignored the village’s matters and focused on tending to the melons.

Su Jiaojiaohad to find an excuse to go to the village and access the system marketplace. When she came back, she didn’t only take the melon seeds with her. She also took out the two watches she acquired from completing the mission, one for each of them.

Song Qinghan loved the watch she got for him and put it on without a second thought. However, he didn’t show it off to others because only Su Jiaojiao’s parents knew he had a new watch.

This was an Eagle-brand watch, one of the most trending brands currently. If it was sold, it would be priced at about 200 dollars.

Su Jiaojiao didn’t take out hers to wear yet. It was harvest season, and it wouldn’t be ideal to gain more enmity with others during this season. She decided to take it out to wear after the second harvest. When she was wearing that watch, she’d also do fewer chores to avoid damaging her watch.
