Song Qinghan’s brows creased. He was about to step out but was stopped by Su Jiaojiao. “Don’t do it. They’re not worth it.”

Song Qinghan stopped and held her hand tightly. The small smile that had been on his face was long gone. Even though he honestly couldn’t care less about what his enemies were doing, it was still irritating to see them prancing around.

He pressed his lips as he saw the beautiful white digits in his hand, and his face eased up a little.

Thankfully, the police arrived soon.

As Mother Song had seen the might of the Public Security Bureau before, she hesitated and ultimately decided to walk away before they actually arrived. However, she quickly scraped that thought when someone insulted her, so she got into a shouting match with them.

(T/N: Yeah, the 70s were weird.)

By then, it was too late for the two old women to scamper. As they were almost scared to death, they turned to their last resort and laid down on the floor shamelessly.

The police officers couldn’t do anything about them. They tried persuading them for a good while before giving up. “You can’t just cause a fuss at someone else’s home. After all, it isn’t his fault.”

“I don’t care! My son is already like this. If he doesn’t give me money, I won’t let this matter end!” As the two old women saw that the police officers couldn’t do anything about them, they came bolder and started threatening them.

The police officers looked at each other and started sweating.

When Su Jiaojiao saw this, she took a deep breath and beckoned the police officer with her eyes.

One of them came over and listened to what she had to say. “Police officer comrade, you’ve memorized the law. They are blatantly threatening law enforcers and heroes. Even though they’re of advanced age, people who break the law are supposed to be punished.”

Song Qinghan added, “You have to punish them. Otherwise, you’d have to come here a few more times to sort out this mess…”

The green police officer’s eyes lit up when he saw the youth in front of them. He remembered that the youth knew the new deputy head, so his attitude shifted to be more respectful. After thinking for a bit, he went over to his colleagues and spoke to them briefly.

The police officers locked eyes and took out handcuffs in tandem. “Old comrades, you’ve threatened police officers and heroes. We’ve decided on how to deal with you. Please follow us to the Public Security Bureau!”

The two b*!&@es in question were locked in the heat of quarrelling when they saw the handcuffs. They were so frightened their faces turned ghastly white, and they shook their heads vehemently. “Don’t! Please don’t!”

The passersby jeered at their actions.

The two old women’s faces turned red as they tried to stand up and run. But before they could start, their efforts were stopped by the police officers. “Don’t run. All we’re doing is having a good talk to see what kind of altercation this counts as. You might get thrown in jail, but you’ll probably just get a stern lecture…”

The two of them regretted their actions so much they turned slightly green. Police car coming closer and closer, they used their final resort futilely. “Police officers, it’s our fault. We won’t cause another stir. Can we go now?”

The police officers had almost burst into laughter after seeing their sudden shift of attitude but forcibly contorted their faces into seriousness. “No!”

Su Jiaojiao waited until the two old women were neutralized before opening the door. Song Qinghan was immediately pulled aside by Daniu and another youth.

Suddenly, Mother Song scurried into the crowd. After thinking for a long while, she threw all caution to the wind and pulled Su Jiaojiao forward, “Police officers, wait a second. My daughter-in-law has been mistreating me this entire time. I want to get revenge…”

“Let go of her!” Song Qinghan’s facial expression changed. He didn’t think before clenching Mother Song’s wrist.

Mother Song stopped due to the pain and let go of Su Jiaojiao.
