There was no way the Su family wouldn’t come after something this big happens.

Sun Fang had brought her husband and sons over a long time ago but didn’t step in since she saw that her daughter wasn’t losing ground. Her daughter’s recent viciousness has already made her think Su Jiaojiao had learnt her secret technique. That was why she was at ease.

That was also why Sun Fang didn’t react when Mother Song was pulling Su Jiaojiao.

But when Su Jiaojiao twisted her ankle, her face contorted as she ran over and roared, “Zhang Hua (presumably Mother Song’s name)! You f*!^er dare bully my daughter?”

The scene had become chaos in an instant. Su Jiaojiao temporarily let go of her enmity with the Matchmaker System and tried to stop Sun Fang, “Mom, calm down. Instead of fighting with her, make her give us some money!”

Recompensating them with money would make Mother Song more heartbroken than the alternative.

Mother Song’s face distorted when she heard Su Jiaojiao’s words, as expected. “How? All I’ve done was pulled you once!”

Song Qinghan’s face darkened as he was about to say something but stopped after he got pinched by his wife.

After all, Mother Song always had the upper hand when dealing with him.

That being said, Su Jiaojiao was another story. Mother Song’s twisted sense of logic had no sway on her. “After you pulled me, my ankle twisted. Now, I can’t walk properly. Not only am I unable to do the daily chores, I even have to use pricey medicine to heal my injury. I don’t even know if my bone is broken or not. Don’t I have to spend money for all that?”

“So what if you twisted your ankle?” Mother Song was still defiant. She had already let go of Su Jiaojiao, but now Sun Fang was clamouring to beat her up. That mother and daughter duo really was her nemeses. She didn’t know what to do.

Su Jiaojiao removed her shoe and showed her foot to Mother Song as she wiped her cold sweat surreptitiously. She threatened Mother Song, “Look at it. It’s swelled up! Qinghan may be your child, but I’m not. You neither give birth to me nor raised me, and I never spent a single cent of yours. If you don’t give me enough money for my medicine fees, I’ll twist your ankle too!”

Does she actually think I’m a pushover?

Mother Song was the kind of person who’d never let herself be at a loss. In that case, she had to retaliate with double the force.

Su Jiaojiao got into a power pose. Her face turned frigid as beams of cold ‘shot’ out of her eyes. If her birth parents could see her now, they’d be confused as hell. The daughter they knew was good-tempered and seemingly incapable of being this imposing.

Mother Song’s eyelid twitched as she tried her utmost to force out her words in a confident manner. “You’re my daughter-in-law! Now that something has happened to Qingshan, my older son should take care of me. But now, you two are even asking me for money! Give me back my son, or I’ll accuse you of domestic abuse!”

(T/N: Is the author just writing filler lmao.)

“You can have your son back, but first, he has to repay all of the money he owes me. Did you know the state of our house when we got it? It had nothing! My parents had to buy all the furniture! There’s also the money spent for marriage…” Su Jiaojiao spewed out a metric ton of things that cost money.

Mother Song felt faint went she saw the house and looked the other way. There was no way for her to be as confident as she was before, as she weakly said, “But…but you still can’t get my money…”

Su Jiaojiao’s parents also felt guilty, because all of the furniture was actually bought by Song Qinghan. Su Jiaojiao’s dowry was just the standard fare. Among the hundred-plus dollars Su Jiaojiao received, a lot of it was Song QInghan’s gift to her. Sun Fang couldn’t bear to have it, so she gave it to Su Jiaojiao as pocket money.

After that, they bought a lot of other stuff, but all of it were the essentially for a newlywed woman, so they didn’t cost much.

Everything was thanks to Song Qinghan.

T/N: Another short chappie, because reasons. Too many of them, and all very valid (I assure you).

Seriously. I got a lot of stuff to do, so chappies might be delayed for this month…and potentially the next. I really don’t know how much I can put in this month, but I’ll try.
