Chapter 12: Did You Hit Your Buttocks?

Shen Chen was riding her electric bike out from a tight bend.

Suddenly, the loud screeching of the tires pierced through the air. The car hit her. Both Shen Chen and her e-bike were tossed into the air. But luck was on her side as she crash-landed bottom first on a pile of garbage by the roadside. 

She groaned in pain and nearly cussed at the driver. She had just made some money out of a staged accident and now came the real one. Her bottom felt numb. Heaven must be playing tricks with her.

Ye Mei was too shocked to move when she hit the biker. She rubbed her eyes to check if the accident actually occurred before getting out of the car.

She staggered to her feet in high heels and walked toward the victim. It was not the time to care about how elegantly she walked.

When she saw a person in a pile of garbage, she halted. With bated breath she hurried to help Shen Chen up.

“Are you all right?” Ye Mei asked nervously with concern.

Seeing that the culprit was a beautiful lady and seemingly very concerned, Shen Chen was feeling less pissed off. But she was not going to let her off the hook just like that; something had to be said.

“The problem isn’t about whether I’m all right or not. It’s about what you were thinking when you were at the wheel!” She had been staying in her lane all along, yet she still got hit. It only meant one thing. The driver was either blind or extremely short-sighted.

Realizing her mistake, Ye Mei said, “Are you injured? If you’re hurt, I will send you to the hospital right away, and I will pay for all your hospital expenses and damages.”

Shen Chen frowned. “No need.”

Supporting herself on the guardrail, she pulled herself to her feet. It seemed she had not suffered any injuries. But her bottom had taken a hit. Looking a little sad, she reached to rub her bottom.

Ye Mei was taken aback and felt a little embarrassed. “Err… did you hit your buttocks?” Like any other members of the upper class, using the word ‘ass’ was considered offensive. 

Feeling unsatisfied, Shen Chen rolled her eyes. “No!” What buttocks? Couldn’t she just call it ‘ass’?

Seeing that the girl did not make a fuss about the accident, Ye Mei felt a little guilty. She hurried back to her car and took out a bank card from her handbag.
