“Liz did you know? The “Saint of Colorado” is coming to this temple!”

In the hallway, a candidate spoke to her at noon, when the clouds in the sky were spread.

Since Anna’s out of the selection, four candidates are left, Liz, Manon, and the other two. She was talking to one of them.

“Colorado…Oh, the woman who saved the wounded in the war zone.”

She remembered being impressed by her, she was such an amazing person. Is that woman really coming to the temple?

“I heard she had an audience with the King due to what she has done in Colorado and volunteered to go up to the temple. The King asked the temple’s side for an exception at this time. It seems that the condition is for her not to get involved in the selection.”

     “Oh.”

“It’s amazing. It’s like a nun who happened to visit the Colorado region. I don’t know details such as her name, but she’s about twenty years old and has dark hair and eyes!”

     “Oh.”

The excited candidate was not satisfied with Liz’s lack of reaction. She ran off as soon as she spotted a maid passing by, saying, “Well, did you know!?”

As Liz carelessly watched her, the Holy dragon on her shoulder pulled her hair asking for a bribe—demanding for food. Liz reluctantly gave a small slice of an apple. If she doesn’t give it food, it wont go out with her to look for the door. However, since it kept o n eating bread and chicken, it seems to have gotten a bit rounder these days.

‘The Holy dragon that’s born from the fruit seems to be getting fat.’

What about it being a round holy dragon? Does it seem to have dignity? No.

“Kyu!” It pulled on her hair again as if telling her not to be rude.

Unfortunately, since morning it had been raining. It was the day that the “Colorado saint” was coming. When Liz went to the dining area, Manon and the other candidates were having lunch at the same table.

‘The number of people has decreased.’

In the beginning the long tables were full. She suddenly remembered Claire, Natalie, and Anna.

“Liz, would you like to sit here?”

She placed down her tray and sat next to the candidates, with a smile she said, “Thank you.”

“Oh, here she is!” Immediately the two candidates rushed out, Manon slowly following them.

The corridor in front of the dining area, a maid carrying a large bag, senior priests, and a young lady, who would be presumed as the saint of Colorado can be seen walking.

Liz, who remained, carried the steaming soup to her mouth, watching the crowd. The saint of Colorado was wearing a red dress, often worn by medical staff, from the neck up to the mid calf. On top of it was a long apron that reached almost her feet.

The maids and priests gathered. The corridor is very narrow with a crowd. She doubts anyone in the temple would be able to come. The priest spoke with a smile, it was a grand welcome.

Suddenly, the Colorado woman in the center suddenly appeared in her mind. It overlapped with the scenery of her hometown. The thin fields, small hills and the house of Baron Kafen.

     ‘Why the Kafen family?’

There was no connection with the Colorado saint. The moment she drew her eyebrows together, the saint turned and faced Liz.

     ‘…?’

The mouth under the veil looked familiar. The Colorado saint smoothly walked into the dining area. Everyone watched her curiously as she slowly walked towards Liz. It’s like a spider’s web. For some reason it felt like she couldn’t move like being entangled in a spider’s web. Liz is the prey and the spider is trying to eat her starting from her head.

The saint of Colorado stopped and faced Liz across the table. She takes off her veil while her other hand is  holding her hair.

     “…!?”

     ‘What!? Why!?’

Liz felt goosebumps all over her body. She sprung up from her seat and managed to hold back her voice.  This is a dream. A daydream. This is absolutely impossible. For this face—

     ‘Cecil’

The color of both her hair and eyes are different. Cecil her previous life had light brown hair and  blue eyes, but the lady before her has dark hair and black eyes. However it’s the face of Cecil. It was her face that she’d see through the mirror everyday in her previous life. She’s shocked that she  almost couldn’t speak.

     “Nice to meet you.”

The 500 years past her smiled, “I’m Sheena Blyde, nice to meet you too.”

Her voice was slightly lower than Cecil’s. Though, of course the voice you hear yourself may be different from what others hear. Her tone is quite subdued but they look exactly the same. A modest face, to put it badly, a plain face.

“Sheena, where are you from? From the royal capital? Do you have siblings? I heard that you were in the monastery.” It rushed out from her mouth which was rare, but she didn’t care.

Cecil lost her parents one after another when she was young, she also had no siblings. Could Sheena possibly be the descendants of Cecil’s parent’s relatives? But with such a small connection can look exactly like her?

With a sad smile, Sheena answered, ” I’m an abandoned child. I was found in front of a monastery in Blydes in the Zac region beside Colorado. I grew up there ever since. I don’t think I was born in the royal capital since it’s quite far from the Zac region.”

So it’s not someone related to Cecil? Is it someone who looks exactly like her? That’s stupid.

“I’d like to meet his highness, Keefa and greet him. I’ve heard that he often comes to the temple. We never got to meet in the Colorado region nor in the royal palace.” Sheena innocently smiled.

Liz suddenly felt her body temperature drop. Once Keefa sees Sheena, a very much live look-a-like of Cecil, he—

‘No. I don’t want him to see.’

It surprised Liz to feel such strong emotions about this. The timing is wrong.

“It seems to be lively here.” A puzzled voice came from across the hall. Liz’s heart beats faster. The center of her body is cold.

“Oh, the Colorado saint has arrived? I just heard it from my father when I came to the temple. I’m surprised.” It was Keefa’s approaching voice, he was talking to a priest.

""

Liz didn’t want him to come. At least for now. She knows that she’s not qualified to think of such things. But still, she can’t help but wish. She didn’t want to see Keefa’s predictable reaction.

‘Don’t come. Don’t come!’ As she prayed, she clenched the ring on her neck, the one from Eugene. She clung onto it so hard that her hand turned white. Unfortunately, her desperate wish wasn’t fulfilled.

“…Cecil.”  A faint trembling murmur from Keefa came to Liz’s ear.

Keefa froze, pale. His eyes never left Sheena’s as if it had been sewn with a thread. Although she had expected it, her chest tightened.

“Nice to meet you, Your Royal Highness. We’re finally able to meet.”

Keefa’s expression became troubled when he saw the smiling face of his past beloved lover.
