The black light that tied Lloyd, Rebecca, and the priests together disappeared.

“Amazing…” The priests were impressed, but Hades pursed his lips in chagrined silence.

Suddenly, the center of the magic circle and the manastone emitted a dazzling light. The black light of the magic circle responded and everywhere black flames flared like pillars of fire.

The place became noisy as the priests tried to fight back with magic, chanting spells.

“That manastone…”Lloyd’s brows drew up, “Wow! It’s giving power to the magic circle. It’s power isn’t the average power.”

“Mimizun!” The worm was enveloped in the black flame. Rebecca took off her coat, desperately trying to extinguish the flames. However, the flames don’t go out. The worm writhed around in agony.

     “Mimizun!”

Liz rushed forward and held her hands over the black flames surrounding the worm. She put in all of her strength but the flame wouldn’t disappear. She was appalled.

‘Why? The black light disappeared earlier.’

She desperately held it up with all her might, but the black flame became more intense like it was laughing at her.

     ‘Why? Why!?’

The flames were hot, burning her palms. Even though it hurt her, she clenched her teeth and kept on holding them up. The flames would not subside as the worm kept on writhing.

Liz helplessly shouted at the black flame, “Disappear!”

The surface of the earthworm’s body is blackened by the fire. She can’t speak to the worm, but it’s like she can hear it screaming.

“Please, go away!” Liz flung her hands against the fire. She seems to be torn with her impatience and chagrin. Why can’t she do anything? Why!?  She felt pity as she pursed her lips and clenched her teeth.

Hades exclaimed with a laugh at watching Liz, “Of course! You’re no magician! It was just a coincidence. Don’t mind it.”

“…Shut up!” Liz murmured to the loud and persistent Hades.

She knows that she doesn’t have magic, she doesn’t have to be told that she isn’t a magician. She knows that she’s just an albino, a commoner, and nothing more that she could be to be proud of. Still, she wanted to be a saint. She wanted to be from the bottom of her heart. That’s why she’s been doing her best. Even if people would point fingers behind her back, she held herself back, enduring and persevered.

There’s no reason why people should  scold or laugh at her.

“Shut up!” At the moment she cried out, her white hair suddenly rose. Her red eyes illuminated a stronger light, overwhelming those watching. At the same time,  a white flame burst out from the ground by Liz’s feet.

White flames fell upon the black flames from the magic circle. Two sides collided and repelled, and the white flames engulfed it. The black flames turned white like magic. From Liz’s feet to the outer circle, it stunningly changed from black to white.

Before turning white, the black flame crumbled, even its  dust turned white.

“…” Everyone was staring at Liz in shock.

Just before the remaining black flames extinguish, at its last momentum black magic bursted. A line of black, sharp beams of light projected towards Liz. As if it was trying to pierce the center of Liz’s face, it sprang out at a point between her eyes.

     “Liz!” Lloyd yelled out.

However, such a weak light could not rival Liz. With her red eyes wide, the sharp point of the black light, projecting towards her crumbled and fell like a rotten ball. Its color gradually became white then it collapsed.

Eventually, the black light extinguished and the magic circle disappeared. Silence. The ground remained to its original state.

“That’s … stupid …!” Hades gasped and murmured. His eyes were wide with amazement.

At that moment, the manastone was glowing again. As if it was coming back for revenge, the back light wrapped around them, though it wasn’t the same as before.

Hades and the priests turned pale.

     Liz slowly looked up.

“Gyu…!” There came a muffled cry. It’s the holy dragon. The holy dragon was freed from the black light. It stared at the stone with burning red eyes. It’s cheeks were flushed and it clearly was angry.

     Then…

The Holy Dragon opened its mouth wide. White flames were spewed to the stone with a ghostly fury. It was so intense that it would seem like the sky would burn. The manastone that was momentarily wrapped in darkness, groaning as if it had a will. Its groan of resentment could be heard.

The holy dragon spewed out flames one after another striking it further.

     “Oh!”

     “It’s too much! Help me!”

The priests fled from the power of the white flame. The white flame that was continuously spewed out was terrifying.

The manastone floated in the air with the white flames around it. As the stone struggled, it gradually turned white and eventually a cracking sound was heard. The stone broke and the shattered pieces scattered on the ground, disappearing like smoke.

The priests held their breaths in shock. They looked up at the horrifying Holy Dragon.

“When it became small, I thought that it’s just a fierce greedy dragon.”

“Amazing. I’m surprised. It surely is a holy dragon…”

“Rather, Liz Stefan, extinguished the black light and the magic circle. Even the flames turned white. What was that…?”

“Mimizun, you’re all right!?” Rebecca shouted.

When the magic circle disappeared, the worm quickly returned to its original size. However, it’s been burned by the black flame. It’s breathing heavily. On Rebecca’s palm, the worm wriggled and eventually stopped as it was exhausted.

“No…Mimizun! Mimizun!?” Rebecca desperately screamed and poked its slender body, but it did not move.

“Please, wake up…” Rebecca started tearing up. Liz approached her gently. Can she do the same thing as she did to Natalie?

She gently laid her hands on the unmoving worm on Reecca’s hand.

     “Liz?”

She wanted to answer Rebecca’s call for help. She directed her power into her palms. A soft white light was emitted. The light gently enveloped the worm.

     And…

     It raised its head.

     “Mimizun!?”

The earthworm wriggled, responding to Rebecca’s call. It became as lively as usual.

     “Mimizun…!”

It stuck its head up at the tip of Rebecca’s nose like giving a kiss. She pressed her face at the palm of her hands crying, “Thank you, Liz. Thank you very much!”

     Rebecca smiled and Liz laughed.

Hades stood in a daze, stunned by the sight before him. The scene that happened before his eyes was unbelievable. Then, Lloyd approached him with a smile, “It’s nice to have Liz. Well, as Sir Hades said, there’s nothing magical about her at all.”

     “‘What?”

There were murmurs from the priests behind Hades, he grinded his teeth and clenched his hands.

“Yes, without Liz Stefan, we’d be in danger.”

“Our magic didn’t work. It had a great magical force. What even was that manastone?”

“If it were not for the fire of the Holy Dragon—no, wait!It was Liz who brought the Holy Dragon.”

After waiting for the excitement of the people around him, Lloyd gave him a smile, “See?”

Hades’s face turned red like blood had gushed out, but he could not retort and angrily turned away.

“Kyu.” the Holy Dragon squeaked and landed on Liz’s head.

“Shiro.”  Liz reached over her head and held the Holy Dragon from both sides. She placed it down before her and stared at it.

A moment later, the Holy Dragon drooped, “Kyu…”

It thought that it’s a reflection and was being disciplined when it was picked up.

Lloyd came up to her,  “That time in the magic circle, it was only Liz’s power, without the help of the Holy Dragon? Isn’t it getting stronger?”

“Yes…I suppose?” Liz stared at the palms of her hands. She doesn’t know the exact details, but she’s happy if that’s the case.

She raised her head and saw Sheena gazing at her behind a passage leading to the main hall. The moment she thought that their eyes had met, Sheena turned violently and walked towards the back of the passage with vigor.

However, just before she turned, Liz saw Sheena’s stiff face. She could see it, it was completely different from her usual calm expression. Chagrin, jealousy, and hatred were swirling in her eyes.
