Chapter 013 - So one needs to factor in economics when studying metaphysics? (4)

Ruan Ya drew 3 cards and placed them on the dining table in order.

6 of Spades. 7 of Hearts. 4 of Spades.

Taking a quick look at the cards, Chu Qianli said freely, “He finds you charming and have the positive image of being smart and a good student. He likes you a lot right now. But if you are in a relationship, you might have conflicts over school and other real life issues and those conflicts might wear you out in the future.”

Ruan Ya was disappointed. “Does that mean we are not right for each other?”

“No, this is just the foreseeable future. Plus, I am only offering advices. You still have to make your own decisions.”

Qiu Qingkong questioned her, “But how will you prove that what you’ve said was right?”

Qiu Qingkong had only seen Tarot cards before but never playing cards. Naturally, she felt dubious about that.

Chu Qianli glanced over at her, retrieved the 3 cards that Ruan Ya had touched, casually pulled out a few more and said with ease, “Go to the hottest place in the school after lunch. You have a very good likelihood of running into that person and he just might profess his love to you.”

Ruan Ya quickly followed up, “Where is the hottest place in school?”

“How would I know? Today is my first day here,” replied Chu Qianli in surprise.

Tan Muxing had to show her where the cafeteria was earlier. She knew nothing about the school at all.

Over on the other end, He Shichen was being comforted by his friends. Those around him were well aware of the drastic change in his and Chu Qianli’s identities and understand his subtle and mixed feelings.

“It’s alright. It didn’t seem like she was meshing well with the others in the class anyway. In this day and age, it’s all about networking. With her different upbringing, it will be difficult for her to become one of us……”

“But that was all because of me taking her spot, no?” He Shichen had mixed feelings toward Chu Qianli. He was alarmed when he was threatened but now that she was being a bum, he felt bad for her.

In the end of the day, he has the one who had taken over her resources. Had she grown up in a wealthy environment, she just might be as ambitious as he was.

He felt torn between his own selfishness and his conscience. He was nothing but a big ball of conflict.

“Well, you shan’t think that way. Most of our classmates are from wealthy families but none are as accomplishing as you. If you feel so bad about it, you can just think of her like a mascot. She doesn’t look the ambitious type to me.”

And that was how they truly felt. He Shichen’s worth wasn’t because he was a He, it was because he was a winner.

He Shichen felt better after hearing that and, all of a sudden, no longer feel resentful toward Chu Qianli.

After He Shichen and the others finished their chat and returned to their classroom, they noticed something odd. The corner that had always been secluded were crowded with girls. Their odd new student that nobody wanted to talk to earlier today was super popular right now.

Chu Qianli and Tan Muxing’s spots were surrounded and Tan Muxing seemed very uncomfortable. Apparently, he was not equipped to handle situations like this. Chu Qianli, on the other hand, was much more relaxed when surrounded by the girls.

To think that they were just talking about how Chu Qianli wouldn’t be able to blend into their class. She was now surrounded by the other girls like stars surround the moon!

“What the heck? What are they all doing?”

“She’s now the most popular person in our class. You will need to take a number in order to talk to her.”

“… …”

He Shichen was stunned and had absolutely no idea what was going on.

Chu Qianli did a reading casually over lunch and now she had become the most talked about person in school!

Ruan Ya had truly went to look for the hottest spot in school and ran into the boy that she was interested in right next to the boiler room. Sure enough, he professed his love for her and Ruan Ya, after thinking about it long and hard, decided to turn him down and told him that she needed to focus on her schoolwork right now.

Even thought it was a happy ending but the result of Chu Qianli’s reading was still accurate. Her ability has been established!

Qiu Qingkong had always been interested in metaphysics and had watched many astrology channels online. None of them, however, was as accurate as Chu Qianli. She said incredulously, “I have only seen Tarot card readings. Can you do that with regular playing cards too?”

“Yes, playing cards has a lot to do with the minor arcana.”

“So you use playing cards instead of Tarot cards because they are more accurate?” asked Qiu Qingkong curiously.

Qiu Qingkong noticed that Chu Qianli’s set of cards was severely worn out. She figured they were a special set of cards and perhaps even have spiritual quality to it. It was not just an ordinary set of playing cards, which was why Chu Qianli was still using it to this day.

“No, it has nothing to do with accuracy,” said Chu Qianli.

Qiu Qingkong, “So you picked this set of cards because……” It has some sort of special power?

Chu Qianli, “Playing cards are cheap. You can buy a set for 5 yuan. It’s reasonably priced and economical.”

Qiu Qingkong, “?”
