Side Story 2 (2)

“I’d rather give them a job than just leave them there… But I don’t know how their lords will react. Well, I’m worried…”

“There is a very simple way. It’s something you’re good at.”

“What is it?”

Looking at Dana asking with her eyes twinkling, Leon thought he really couldn’t help it.

“You can pay for it.”

“Oh…? But is it that simple?”

“We have to go through a few things in the procedure, but most of the people who ran away are set for capital punishment anyway. It is also profitable as a lord to sell them for money rather than kill them.”

Leon talked and constantly put food into her mouth. Dana nodded as she ate everything calmly.

“By the way, what happened earlier?”

“It was nothing. After the death of Viscount Roston near here, his son took over and became the Head of the family, and he seems to have some problems.”

“Aha, I think I saw him at the wedding.”

And a few more small stories came and went. Dana asked about the beach here, and Leon answered and looked at her because she had become quiet.

Dana was sleeping soundly with her head resting on Leon’s shoulder.

“Your Highness, a new cup of tea…”

“Hush.”

When the maid approached and spoke to him, Leon beckoned to her to be quiet. Then everyone, including the maid, stepped away quietly, killing their steps.

Leon covered Dana with a blanket over her body, watched for a while, and stood carefully.

The next afternoon, after lunch alone, Dana decided to go out to the beach for a walk.

The beach was only a 10 minutes walk from the castle.

“Are you sure you don’t mind?”

“Sure, I’ll just look around and be right back.”

Dana also felt heavy on her own, so she didn’t intend to walk for a long time. But she wanted to step on the white sandy beach herself. It was obvious that she would be in trouble when Leon came back, so she was going to go quickly before he came.

“I’ll only take Lisa and Lily. I’ll be back really soon, so don’t worry.”

Relieving those who were worried, Dana stepped slowly. The warm sunlight and the chilly sea breeze met, so it was moderately mild and cool.

She was worried that she might have bothered many people by saying she would come here for no reason, but now she thought she did well when she came.

The beach she saw from afar was dazzling. Coniferous trees were planted around to prevent sea winds, and in the meantime, there was a single path to the beach.

Near the beach was the house of Baron Roston, the family of the Tertius’s vassals. However, the beaches, major fish farms, and ports were still managed directly by Tertius.

The beach was obviously owned by the Tertius family, but it was an open space for everyone. But people here didn’t come to the beach very often.

As it was the usual sea, there was nothing to cry about, and as everyone was engaged in their livelihood, there was no time to come to the beach and enjoy it.

So it was always known to be clean and quiet.

Dana knew it, so she didn’t take many people to escort her. But as she went, the beach was a little noisy.

Lily, who was going with her, brought it up.

“I think there are people who came first.”

Just in case, Lisa took the lead and took a look at the situation. At the entrance to the beach, guards stood guard against those coming and going. In truth, it seemed more of a threat than a boundary.

When Dana’s party reached the entrance, the guards blocked the road without fail.

“Hey, you can’t go in here.”

“I can’t go in? Why?”

When Lisa asked, a guard pointed to the beach with his hand.

“Do you see that? Now, Viscount Roston is out to play with his friends. Go away, they don’t want to be disturbed!”

The guard pulled out the sword threateningly, and Lisa also pulled it out with a snort.

“The Viscount Roston? How dare such an unheard-of aristocrat stand in our way?”

The guard faltered as if he had not noticed that there would be a sword, even though she wore light armor.

Lisa glanced at Dana behind her and asked her with a smile.

“What should I do?”

Dana smiled softly and said without making any noise,

“Please clean it up.”
