As he said so, Fu Yuanchuan held the little fish in his arms, blocking him entirely.

Jun Qingyu only experienced darkness before his eyes, and a ‘bang’ caught his ears the next moment, followed by the sound of something rustling and falling.

Everyone below was stunned when they saw the scene above, why was this different from what was written in the invitation letter?

Why are petals floating down from the sky?

What was going on?

Someone could not process this and asked Tordis in hushed tones, “Marshal, what is going on? Didn’t you say that the wedding is next? Why are these things falling?”

Marshal Tordis smiled and applauded, then replied, “That’s called a rose, don’t you see it? How romantic.”

“…Ah?”

Seeing that he didn’t understand, Marshal Tordis said, “Tsk, no wonder you are still single.”

“???”

Fu Yuanchuan moved to remove the petals from the little fish’s body, “Roses are ancient flowers. You recognise them, right?”

Jun Qingyu has never seen roses in the Empire or even in the interstellar world, “You planted them?”

“Hnn.” Fu Yuanchuan said softly, “According to what you told me, I did some research on everything you know.”

That, obviously, was something Jun Qingyu had not witnessed the process of.

Jun Qingyu smiled with squinted eyes. He wasn’t interested in flowers; the roses would vanish, likely a consequence of the interstellar climate. He didn’t know how Fu Yuanchuan found their seeds and how he cultivated them either.

Roses were one of the few flowers he knew about.

Jun Qingyu caught a complete rose.

“I don’t have many friends, I don’t know who to invite to our wedding, so I thought why not use the place where I get enthroned and hold our wedding in such a grand setting.”

Jun Qingyu speculated that the events would take place at two locations but held on the same day. Since he lacked a personal social circle, he abstained from preparing the invitation letters. The only people he was acquainted with were Shi Kaixin and a handful of others he had encountered on a few occasions.

He didn’t like to make friends, nor did he like to get involved with others.

Fu Yuanchuan retrieved a ring out of his pocket. He gave one to the little fish when he proposed before. Similarly, this time around, it was handcrafted by him as well, except the design differed.

The soothing sound of music played softly, and someone from outside came in and quietly walked into the crowd.

Fu Yuanchuan knelt down on one knee, “I am willing to entrust my everything to you.”

Jun Qingyu stretched out his left hand and responded with a chuckle, “Didn’t you already do it?”

Perhaps because a wedding ceremony held a different meaning from a proposal, a sense of nervousness inevitably crept into Fu Yuanchuan’s heart when he held the little fish’s hand.

He replaced the previous ring with a new one–their wedding ring.

When Fu Yuanchuan got up, Jun Qingyu threw himself into his arms and was a step ahead in kissing his lips.

The next moment, Fu Yuanchuan put his arms around his waist in response.

Although they stood tall, it didn’t prevent Shi Kaixin from having good eyes and a ‘wah’ escape from him when he saw them kiss. He shouted, “May Your Majesties live a long and happy life together!”

“Grow old together!”

“Be a loving couple!”

“Have a baby soon!”

Shi Kaixin: “…?”

His eyes swept over to his group of brothers. Let me see which little idiot was spouting this nonsense.

In the end, no one averted their eyes and unexpectedly they didn’t allow Shi Kaixin to source them out.

Meanwhile, above Jun Qingyu was resting in Fu Yuanchuan’s embrace and he inhaled softly, attempting to steady his breath. “Are we going back now?”

Fu Yuanchuan patted him on the back and glanced at the time, “There is still a palace banquet at five. We might not have enough time, let’s leave now.”

Jun Qingyu nodded and asked, “Will there be a toast?”

“…Probably not.” As he recalled the two times what the little fish looked like after drinking, Fu Yuanchuan wouldn’t give the little fish a drink.

Fu Yuanchuan said, “Let’s go.”

“Okay.”

Shi Kaixin watched the two of them on stage heading for the back. He immediately set out and said, “Relocate, withdraw, move fast, close the door and don’t let anyone in.”

With that, Shi Kaixin turned and fled.

“Holy shit?!”

Everyone exclaimed and hurriedly rushed up to catch up.

Inside, there was a lift that was convenient to move up and down, and through the transparent lift, the congestion outside could be clearly seen. Jun Qingyu looked over when he heard the commotion and saw a familiar person approaching, “Yuanchuan.”

“Hmm?”

“I seem to have seen Fu Qingheng.”

“Him?” Fu Yuanchuan followed Jun Qingyu’s line of sight and really saw Fu Qingheng walking over.

Fu Qingheng was waiting at the door when the lift arrived at ground level.

Seeing them come out, Fu Qingheng raised an eyebrow and smiled, “How is it, brother? Aren’t I on time, no?”

“I thought you weren’t coming.” Fu Yuanchuan dispatched someone to send an invitation letter there, but because the relationship between them had not been disclosed to the public, it was difficult for Fu Qingheng to come here. He didn’t see him in the morning and believed Fu Qingheng would not come.

Fu Qingheng countered, “How could I be absent on such an important occasion?”

Their reminisce was forgone, and Fu Qingheng got straight to the point, “Go, let’s go inside and have a drink.”

Jun Qingyu had been instructed not to drink any alcohol, so he didn’t take part in it.

Since he remained motionless, the toasters refrained from approaching him to offer a toast. Shi Kaixin’s reluctance had nothing to do with being intimidated by Jun Qingyu’s identity, he simply didn’t dare.

Jun Qingyu sat quietly and ate his meal. Apart from consuming half of the buns earlier in the morning, he had gone without food for the entire day.

This event could be regarded as a temporary break for him to eat something.

After the control on fruits and vegetables was released, the taste of the cake was the same as before, but the strawberries on the strawberry cake were palatable.

At the previous banquet, when he ate the strawberry cake, Fu Yuanchuan ate the strawberries at the top layer, while Jun Qingyu merely ate the sponge below.

After eating part of the cake, Jun Qingyu looked briefly at Fu Yuanchuan. On such occasions, regardless of a good or bad relationship, there would always be a slight sense of formality, but it would be somewhat alleviated after consuming alcohol.

Jun Qingyu told him after he handed the cake in his hand, “I’ll go get something else.”

“I’ll go with you.” As Fu Yuanchuan said that, he got up.

“I’ll be fine on my own.” Jun Qingyu pressed his shoulder to push him back, and smiled as he spoke, “I’ll be back soon.”

“Mhm, go ahead.”

The scent of alcohol was a little heavy there and most were around that area.

In a kind of situation where they wanted to join in the fun, but their identity was not enough to get in, so they could only peek in from the outermost perimeter.

Jun Qingyu, disliking to exchange pleasantries, went straight to the dessert area.

The desserts were all made of fresh fruit and some of his favourites.

He took two pieces of cake and some others, intending to let Fu Yuanchuan have some food before drinking.

The banquet lasted until nightfall.

The palace was brightly lit, but the hall was quiet.

Fu Yuanchuan did not have a trace of drunkenness in his eyes. He looked at the little fish beside him, who was so sleepy that he was about to fall asleep and said softly, “Let’s go back.”

In response, Jun Qingyu replied in a daze, “Okay.”

As he said that, he subconsciously wrapped his arms around Fu Yuanchuan’s neck, and instead of standing up, fell straight into his embrace.

Fu Yuanchuan conveniently carried him and brought him back to their sleeping quarters.

The original plan was to go on a trip the next day after their wedding.

He would take the little fish for sight-seeing at every place in the interstellar and they could even set foot in the Federation to enjoy the landscape.

But the trip was postponed due to some reasons, and instead of returning to the villa, they stayed in the Imperial Palace for a while longer.

While hugging Jun Qingyu, Fu Yuanchuan remarked as he rested on the headboard, “I found some tourism planets with good reviews, look if there are any places you want to go besides these.”

Only giving them a fleeting glimpse before he withdrew his gaze, Jun Qingyu buried his head in Fu Yuanchuan’s embrace and responded, “You decide.”

“Tired?”

“…I didn’t sleep yesterday.”

The muffled voice sounded a bit like he was throwing a tantrum. Fu Yuanchuan gently stroked his back, “You can sleep for a little longer.”

No response. Fu Yuanchuan assumed he was asleep.

As a result, Fu Yuanchuan arrived at a decision on the trip alone.

It took Jun Qingyu a few days of rest to recover. A mermaid’s body was good and had a strong recovery capability. Even so, he only recovered so quickly after soaking in spring water.

Otherwise, he might not have been able to make it in time for their trip.

While he packed his bags, Jun Qingyu considered and asked, “Have you made all the arrangements for Shi Kaixin?”

“Yes, it’s the same as always. Shi Kaixin will send word if there’s anything important, the rest will be handled by him.”

Jun Qingyu voiced, “What about a promotion and a pay raise?”

“He’s got it all.”

“Okay.”

""

They left on an Imperial spaceship for their trip, with a dedicated aviation corp.

Shi Kaixin stood nearby, “Your Majesty, I think it would be better if you took me with you on your trip, I can take care of some of the hassles for you.”

“As far as I am concerned, Your Majesties are not very communicative in nature. What would you do if you encounter any situation you need to bargain or ask for directions?”

“It would be easier to take me with you, I am an expert in communication and I know many of the planetary dialects.”

“How about it, Your Majesty. Would you give it some consideration?”

Shi Kaixin, who didn’t want to remain on the Imperial Planet, spared no effort to market himself.

Jun Qingyu didn’t think the issue he raised was considered an issue, but he still commented, “Yu Zhi is around.”

“Certainly, there are indeed matters that exceed Yu Zhi’s capabilities. I understand you well, considering my longstanding assignment as your bodyguard. Wouldn’t you experience a degree of discomfort if an abrupt replacement were made and Yu Zhi were to assume my position as your bodyguard?”

Shi Kaixin sniffed twice in pretence, “You should allow me to go, I believe the Empire’s affairs should be left to Yu Zhi to manage.”

“I’m such an unreliable person, how could I possibly do that?”

Jun Qingyu: “…”

Isn’t this what everyone has been vying for? Why are so averse to it with such genuine emotions?

Jun Qingyu deliberated, “After our spaceship lands on a planet, our following travel routes will no longer be through official channels.”

It was likely that they would take a civilian ship afterwards, and Yu Zhi and the rest would also return.

Shi Kaixin would absolutely not give up when he could still seize an opportunity, “Then before we go through official channels, I believe you may allow me to go!”

After having spoken extensively up to this point, Jun Qingyu found it unjustifiable if he continued to reject him once more, so he said, “Go and conduct a handover with Yu Zhi.”

“Alright!” Shi Kaixin hasn’t even cried a single tear when he pretended to and he happily looked for Yu Zhi.

Fu Yuanchuan walked over and said, “Everything’s ready, let’s board the spaceship.”

“Mhm.” Jun Qingyu informed, “I’ve allowed Shi Kaixin to replace Yu Zhi.”

“I’ll go along with your decision.” The transfer of personnel was just a trivial matter. If Jun Qingyu was more accustomed to Shi Kaixin, it would be fine to let it be.

Spaceships were much smaller than battleships.

Even Imperial ships were not larger than battleships, rather they were smaller and exquisite.

There was less emphasis on size and a lot of extra minor details compared to a battleship,

which were more inclined to daily life.

Besides the driver, only Shi Kaixin followed them.

But when Jun Qingyu and Fu Yuanchuan were alone, Shi Kaixin would silently stay away; the unwanted third wheel had a set rule of when to disappear and when to appear.

Jun Qingyu sat movie theatre in the spaceship, eating popcorn and watching movies to pass the time.

The movies on the spaceship were all recent hits, I selected a highly-rated ghost movie, said to be suitable to watch for couples.

However…when the deathly pale face of the ghost appeared for the third time, the little fish still hasn’t jumped into his arms yet.

Fu Yuanchuan put his arm around the little fish’s shoulders and questioned, “How is it?”

Jun Qingyu pondered, “Well…It’s not bad, but it’s a bit too sweet, and a little less butter would make it even better.”
