Chapter 7 – Secret Land Of The Setting Moon

Admire Gu Jianshen’s eyes? Beg him for the golden dragon?

He could also admire them if Gu Jianshen was dead ba….

Just as he was thinking this, the jade scroll desperately used up its last mouthful of old blood and spat out a sentence—

“Addendum: He must stay alive!”

Shen Qingxian felt very regretful.

He didn’t want to do these two tasks for the time being; after having just parted from Gu Jianshen, drawing close to him to admire his eyes and ask for the golden dragon was simply too crazy, and he just couldn’t do it.

The last task… Go to the Secret Land of the Setting Moon within the next five days? He could do that first.

But which secret realm was the Secret Land of the Setting Moon?

Don’t blame Shen Qingxian for not knowing; after all, this was a cultivation world. Taking the whole continent into consideration, one would find as many secret realms as dogs. Small hidden realms could be found everywhere, and if it wasn’t particularly famous, how would a big boss like Shen Qingxian know about it?

Shen Qingxian could also use his divine sense to sweep across the world and determine its position, but that would cause a lot of fuss, and if people with a low cultivation level got swept into his divine sense, they would definitely suffer some spiritual damage.

Lord Lianhua was a kind man.

Shen Qingxian called Zeng Ziliang to him.

When he was summoned so suddenly, Old Zeng got so nervous that he started walking around like a robot, and to get to his destination, his disciples nearly had to prop him up while traveling!

The closer he got to Wanxiu Mountain, the more Zeng Ziliang’s nervousness grew.

He was neither Ye Zhan, that single-minded guy, nor was he Cheng Jing, who ignored the outside world completely. Amongst the six of them, he was both the most involved with the world and the most ambitious one.

If you have a guilty conscience, naturally, you are more afraid.

Wanxiu Mountain was just like its name. Mist and bamboo curled around the mountain, and the greenery and flowers were so brilliant that they seemed to burn. It was so beautiful that it didn’t seem like a place from the human world.

At this moment though, poor Zeng Ziliang didn’t have the slightest appreciation for it.

By the time he reached the top of the stairs, Old Zeng had already sweated so much that his back was drenched.

Outside the hall, a little boy with lovely red lips and white teeth saluted him. “Sect Master Zeng, please.”

With Zeng Ziliang’s cultivation, he could naturally see this child’s true form with just a glance. It was a small peach blossom that had just taken human form not long ago.

Outside, Zeng Ziliang wouldn’t even spare an extra glance at this little peach blossom yao, but this was Wanxiu Mountain, in front of the Qianting Hall, and he was an attendant of Lord Lianhua’s!

Zeng Ziliang used special formal gestures to salute the little boy. “I have troubled you.”

Su Yu was at that simplest age, and he simply thought that his sect master was generous and polite. He didn’t think too much about this greeting at all.

“Quickly come in ba, His Lordship is waiting for you.” Su Yu’s voice was cute and pleasing.

Zeng Ziliang wanted to gather some information by asking a few questions, but they had already entered Qingting Hall. He didn’t dare to utter even one more word out of fear of making mistakes if he said too much.

Shen Qingxian knew Zeng Ziliang’s twisty thoughts very well, but as long as he didn’t cross a line, he would always turn a blind eye and not ask too many questions.

The heavenly dao boasted that it was the righteous path, but in reality, they were very far from the word “righteous.”

The law of the jungle had ruled here for thousands of years now;  how “righteous” could someone really be?

Zeng Ziliang finally saw Shen Qingxian.

In the midst of a thick tea fragrance, the moon-white figure that was synonymous with the heavenly dao appeared.

Zeng Ziliang prostrated himself and saluted, not even daring to take an extra glance at him.

Shen Qingxian said, “Come here.”

Zeng Ziliang walked over with his head bowed down. He was uneasy and really didn’t know why His Lordship had summoned him here now.

Shen Qingxian pointed at the open space next to him, and a rhinoceros wood chair appeared.

Shen Qingxian: “Sit.”

How could Zeng Ziliang dare to sit in such a noble chair? He said in a trembling voice, “This disciple doesn’t dare.”

Shen Qingxian glanced at him. Zeng Ziliang’s legs softened, and he sat down with a pala sound.

Shen Qingxian’s expression remained unchanged, and his voice was very gentle as he said, “I brought you here to ask you something.”

Here it comes, here it comes… Zeng Ziliang’s heart was pounding. Had His Lordship learned that he had used the Thousand Black Crane Sect’s secret weapon to snatch resources from the Immersed Moon Sect?!

Shen Qingxian was too lazy to peep into his small thoughts. He asked directly, “Do you know of the Secret Land of the Setting Moon?”

The Secret Land of the Setting Moon!!

Zeng Ziliang immediately knelt down and said, “Lord, this disciple knows his wrongs!”

Shen Qingxian: “……”

Zeng Ziliang was scared to death. Although he had only contacted the Heart Domain people once, he had never imagined His Lordship would know about it!

The Secret Land of the Setting Moon was really not a big secret realm. Let alone Shen Qingxian, even a big boss at Zeng Ziliang’s level didn’t care much about it.

It wasn’t so much a secret realm as a forest.

It came into being about a hundred years ago, and was a secret realm attached to the mortal world. Recently, many ordinary people had begun to walk the path of immortality from there. Of course, many low-level cultivators had also gone there to wander around and cultivate.

This Secret Land of the Setting Moon was rather small, so the different factions didn’t fall into conflict over it, and it belonged to the greater public.

Whether it was the heavenly dao or the Heart Domain, low level cultivators from both sides were willing to go and adventure there.

In fact, the matter that had Zeng Ziliang frightened out of his wits was not even worth mentioning. Even though he was old, he hadn’t forgotten to sow his seed and spread his genes around. He had a whole pile of children, and the youngest was only 18 years old, a living example of an aristocratic young master.

The young master was born in an aristocratic family of cultivators and naturally wanted to cultivate, but since his father was the leader of the Wufang sect, he also swaggered around wherever he went….

In the past, he had gotten so used to being arrogant that he thought no one in the world could beat him. He also carried this very same arrogance into the Secret Land of the Setting Moon.

The heavenly dao cultivators worried about his father’s retaliation, so they kept out of his way, but the Heart Domain cultivators didn’t care about such things. They came up with a trap, kidnapped the young master, and sent a ransom letter to the Wufang sect.

Zeng Ziliang was actually quite fond of his youngest son, and as soon as he heard that something had happened, he immediately told his disciples to go rescue him.

Because he was worried about the safety of his child, he had promised many benefits to those Heart Domain cultivators…

Who could have thought that His Great Lordship would hear about that?! Did His Lordship think that he wasn’t righteous anymore for communicating with outside enemies?!!

Not to mention communicating with enemies or not, he really didn’t possess a righteous heart anymore. No wonder, despite the fact that they were all peers, Ye Zhan still looked youthful, but Zeng Ziliang now appeared as a middle-aged uncle.

Shen Qingxian picked up a tea cup and said, “Breeding offspring is a good thing, but we need to be careful about how we educate them.”

Zeng Ziliang said repeatedly, “As His Lordship says.”

Shen Qingxian glanced at him. “Drink your tea.”

Zeng Ziliang shakily picked up the tea cup and took a sip….

Pure spiritual qi poured into his heart, and all that pent-up depression dissolved away, replaced by a clear and ethereal supreme dao intent!

Zeng Ziliang’s face regained its youth at a speed visible to the naked eye, the pain in his body was eliminated, and his heart calmed down….

Old Zeng, with tears streaming down his face, knelt on the ground and kowtowed. “Thank you, Lord!”

Shen Qingxian waved his hand.

After this baptism, Zeng Ziliang would once again be able to give his all and exhaust himself for the heavenly dao for hundreds of years.

While Old Zeng was moved to tears, Shen Qingxian said, “I have two enlightened children here. Please arrange for them to pay a visit to the Secret Land of the Setting Moon.”

Zeng Ziliang thought of the peach blossom yao that he had met outside the hall and immediately complied. “Please don’t worry, Lord. This disciple will make all the necessary arrangements for such a small matter.”

Shen Qingxian agreed.

After Zeng Ziliang left, Shen Qingxian called Su Yu in again.

Su Yu was at the most innocent and artless age, so he wasn’t afraid to see Shen Qingxian.

Shen Qingxian said in a warm voice, “Since you have become enlightened, you should cultivate. Tomorrow, you and another companion will go to the Secret Land of the Setting Moon for a visit ba.”

Su Yu was surprised and asked, “Lord, I can leave Wanxiu Mountain?”

Shen Qingxian said, “This is your home, so you can come and go as you please.”

Su Yu was so happy that his eyes seemed to fill with small stars.

Shen Qingxian rubbed his soft hair and said lightly, “Go back and prepare ba.”

Early in the morning of the next day, Su Yu woke up and trotted all the way to the front hall with his bag on his back.

Speaking of walking, His Lordship had said that someone would be going with him; he didn’t know who?

Just as he was thinking that, Su Yu saw the little boy standing in front of the hall.

The “little boy” turned his head and looked at him with big distinct black eyes.

Su Yu was completely stunned!

So….so…..so cute!

Raven-black long hair, snow-white skin, big watery eyes, and a touch of cinnabar-red between his brows, which made people’s hearts tremble…

After a long time, Su Yu said, “You… You…”

The “little boy” had a soft voice. “My name is Zhao Yan.”

——The peach blossoms are red with yesterday’s rain, the willows green all gleam with the mist of spring

That was the poem that His Lordship had told him!

Su Yu asked happily, “Are you a transformed willow branch?”

Zhao Yan nodded. “En.”

It seemed that this was his travel companion! Su Yu was very happy!

“Is all your luggage ready? Let’s say goodbye to His Lordship.”

“Zhao Yan” said, “His Lordship has gone out and said that we should head directly down the mountain.”

Su Yu didn’t doubt him and nodded repeatedly. “That’s good too.”

He pulled at Zhao Yan’s hand. “Come, let’s kowtow to His Lordship ba.”

Although His Lordship was absent, some rules still had to be followed. Even though Su Yu was young, he was after all born on Wanxiu Mountain, and so had very stable moral principles.

“Zhao Yan” hesitated….

Shen Qingxian was afraid that if he knelt down, the hall would cave in, and Wanxiu Mountain would collapse.

Fine, he’d just create an illusion ba.

Su Yu happily pulled his little friend down the mountain, completely unaware that his little partner wasn’t little, but actually quite big….

When compared to Su Yu’s age, Shen Qingxian could be considered to be especially old.

Turning into Zhao Yan to go down the mountain was part of Shen Qingxian’s conjecture.

The jade scroll’s mission was to go to the Secret Land of the Setting Moon within five days. This task seemed quite simple; for Shen Qingxian, let alone five days, even making a round trip would only take a blink of an eye.

But there would be a price to be paid for that. And Shen Qingxian wouldn’t be the one paying it, but rather the Secret Land of the Setting Moon would pay the price.

Such a small secret realm, if Shen Qingxian went with his lordly status, it would probably explode without even leaving a trace.

Mostly, the formation of secret realms was based on a fact; generally, they were self-contained barriers. Only by protecting itself on one side could it breed tens of thousands of spiritual beings within its barriers.

And all such barriers carried certain restrictions. Let alone Shen Qingxian, if Zeng Ziliang tried to enter it, this barrier probably wouldn’t be able to take it.

The mutual attraction between auras could not be ignored. If Zeng Ziliang’s aura was greater than that of this barrier, he would continuously absorb it. In the end, this secret realm would cease to exist.

Although it was a low-level secret realm, it held great value for the growth of future generations. Therefore, once their cultivation reached a certain level and beyond, cultivators wouldn’t enter this secret realm.

However, Shen Qingxian had to go, and so he had thought deeply about this.

This secret realm couldn’t be destroyed. Forget about mentioning the future generations (after all, big bosses could build several secret realms for them with just a flick of their hand), but just for the sake of executing the follow-up task given by this jade scroll, the Secret Land of the Setting Moon must continue existing.

He didn’t believe that the jade scroll just wanted him to take one trip to this location. It must want him to go there eight, nine, ten times….

And so, Shen Qingxian suppressed his cultivation, turned into a child, and entered the secret realm in the most normal way.

Su Yu chattered all the way, not seeming like a peach blossom yao, but rather like a yellow oriole.

The two of them were still very eye-catching. Both of these children had their hair twisted into child-like knots and were pale and tender, making anyone who saw them  send them a few more glances.

Su Yu was young and naive. When they were right outside the secret realm, he looked at the heap of stalls with bright eyes.

Zeng Ziliang had handled things thorougly and given each of them a bag of holding. The things in the bags of holding…tch, tch… there were more treasures there than the Secret Land of the Setting Moon produced in a month.

Su Yu saw the candy-sellers and said happily, “Zhao Yan, do you want some?”

Shen Qingxian: “…..”

Su Yu thought he was shy. “Try it ma, it’s okay.” Then he ran over and bought two sticks.

Looking at the caramelized things in his hands, Shen Qingxian’s expression was conflicted. Hmm…I haven’t eaten earthly things for thousands of years now ba?

Su Yu took a bite and instantly beamed. “It’s so sweet.”

Shen Qingxian took a bite and frowned.

It is terrible….

Su Yu praised it while eating, “Eat up ah, it’s so good!”

Shen Qingxian really couldn’t eat it, so he used a small spell to make it disappear.

Anyway, they hadn’t entered the secret realm yet, so it was fine if he used some magic.

He thought so, but he didn’t prevent a certain someone far away from locking in on him using this slight fluctuation.

Su Yu bought a pile of things in a disorderly manner before entering the secret realm with Shen Qingxian. As soon as he entered, Shen Qingxian checked the jade scroll.

The “Seventh” line, which should have turned gray, was still lit up.

What was going on? This couldn’t not be the Secret Land of the Setting Moon?

Why wasn’t the task marked as complete?

The author has something to say:

Ding dong, the yao-like lord will be online soon.

Juurensha: Aw, Su Yu is very cute!
