This astonishing discovery instantly attracted the attention of the surrounding people.

The Su family members’ gazes had turned from the meat to Su Jiaojiao’s hand in a second.

The watch was small, unexpectedly so. However, even a person who knew nothing about watches could see that this was a high-quality watch, just by looking at its lustre and touching it!

When the two daughter-in-laws of the Su family found out, they ignored everything and sprinted towards Su Jiaojiao, grasping her wrist and gazing at the watch on it. They let out gasps of wonder and said in disbelief, “Ah, Jiaojiao, how are you so willing to spend money?”

Su Jiaojiao smiled a bit embarrassedly, “That’s because I liked it. It’s nothing to do with money.”

After hearing that, both of them felt sick. However, one of them was appalled at how Su Jiaojiao squandered money, while the other actually felt unwell.

Suddenly, Li Shou’s facial colour changed, and she staggered to the wastebin while holding her stomach. The heart-wrenching vomit she let out turned the heads of the Su family members, yet again.

Su Jianjun was so scared he rushed to support his wife. He gave her some water to rinse her mouth, then helped her sit down carefully, asking, “Are you better now?”

Li Shou nodded her head. Something was pressing on her stomach, which was making her uncomfortable. As she creased her brows and let out a sigh, she made an offhand remark. “What’s wrong with me? Don’t tell me I’m pregnant.”

After she said that, Sun Fang couldn’t be any happier. “You probably are, alright; let Li Shou rest for the day. I’ll cook instead.”

In the Su family, the two daughter-in-laws of the household took turns to cook. Occasionally, when there were some fine ingredients that day, or if Sun Fang was exceptionally bored, she would volunteer to cook. Her culinary skills weren’t bad, and she was willing to put more nutrients on the meal because her daughter was coming over. Therefore, everyone enjoyed what she made that night.

Li Shou froze. She looked at Song Qinghan queerly, then her own stomach, and panicked, “I’m-I’m really pregnant? But why weren’t there any symptoms?!”

“Isn’t this a symptom?” Sun Fang was so happy she burst into an ear-splitting grin. Even her steps were lighter as she walked towards the kitchen. Having more descendants was considered a sign of prosperity in the current era, so she felt overjoyed whenever she got another grandson.

“Mum, I’ll help too,” Su Jiaojiao followed her into the kitchen. She had gotten a newfound interest in culinary during these two months or so.

Zhang Qing had dealt with the pork intestines on her own initiative. She wasn’t envious about the baby in Li Shou’s womb; she had already given birth to two children, after all, and had no desire to give birth to a third. Her father and mother-in-law didn’t help take care of her children, so it was challenging for them and her husband to look after their children independently.

Her attention was still on the watch, and she asked enviously: “Jiaojiao, did you really buy this? Why didn’t your husband say anything about how you bought it?”

No one in their right mind would bear to wear something that expensive.

(T/N: Yes, we know it’s costly, shuddup author.)

When this topic was raised once more, Su Jiaojiao still didn’t answer. That was when Sun Fang remembered that Su Jiaojiao had never given her an explanation, so she asked her again while rubbing her head.

“Daughter, you really shouldn’t squander your money like that. I’ve heard that this watch can cost up to a hundred dollars. You’re a housewife. Even if your husband is going to work now, you’ve only got enough money to last the end of the year at most. Wouldn’t you have to starve after that? Also, where did you get that watch voucher? I don’t recall that we have that kind of voucher. Did you buy it from someone?”

Sun Fang had initially wanted to discipline her daughter. However, she had forgotten about that due to her euphoria when she found out Li Shou was pregnant.

Zhang Qing nodded fearfully as well. She hadn’t looked at the watch carefully, but she knew that it wouldn’t be anything cheap. And Su Jiaojiao also had to pay to buy the watch voucher…sigh, she really had no concept of money.

Su Jiaojiao said softly, “He wouldn’t know anything. I bought this from the black market, so I didn’t need to spend any money to buy a voucher.”

“THE BLACK MARKET?!” Sun Fang shouted in surprise and horror before pinching Su Jiaojiao’s cheek angrily. “When did you become so reckless?”

Su Jiaojiao tucked her head in her neck and didn’t dare make a peep.

Zhang Qing looked at the kitchen enviously before she continued washing the pig intestines, pinching her nose as she did so.

Why is Su Jiaojiao treated so much better than me?
