Chapter 90 Part 1

“Hold, hold on…” Jun Qingyu swiftly dodged, but it was not practical to transform into legs to run away, and he didn’t prepare clothes the size of a little mermaid.

The interior of the single-pilot mecha was very narrow and the console occupied a relatively large area; essentially, it would be packed if another person came in.

Even if Jun Qingyu wished to become a human, he could not find a place to settle.

Fu Yuanchuan took the ointment and reached his hand out to the little fish, “Come here.”

Jun Qingyu grasped his fingertip and did not hop on, rather he supported his chin with his hand, “I feel fine.”

The recovery ability of a mermaid was strong, and if it was no good, all would work out after soaking him in water.

Fu Yuanchuan curled his fingertip and lightly nudged it against the little fish’s cheek. Seeing that he didn’t want to use it, he put down the cotton swab, “Remember to say something if you feel unwell.”

“Mhm.” Jun QIngyu hugged his fingertip and kissed it, “How long until we get there?”

In fact, they left not long ago, Fu Yuanchuan calculated the time and said, “A few more hours, no rush.”

The mecha was driving on autopilot. After determining the route, it only had to be simply manipulated during a leap through the galaxy to avoid a deviation in the course. Apart from that, there was no need to keep an eye on it.

With his fingertip wrapped around the tail of the little fish, Fu Yuanchuan retrieved some snacks, “Have something to eat.”

When he woke up at home in the past, Fu Yuanchuan would always make him something to eat, but he was in a rush to leave today, and the little fish had just woken up, so he ought to be hungry.

The nutrient solution had a bad taste, and though it was convenient, the little fish disliked it. Fu Yuanchuan drank the nutrient solution himself and fed the little fish some snacks.

Jun Qingyu bit into dried meat. There was no strength in his hands and he did not budge, the jerky was placed on Fu Yuanchuan’s palm while he bit into its edges in small bites.

Fu Yuanchuan drank a bottle of nutrient solution and watched the little fish bite into dried meat bigger than him in small bites, leaving a few clear small tooth marks on the sides of the dried meat.

Realising that Fu Yuanchuan was looking at him, Jun Qingyu swallowed the dried meat before he said, “I wanted to discuss it with you, to settle the issues with the nobility first.”

Even if the nobility wanted authority right now, they had none, which meant their status was hardly anything no matter how honourable they were. Instead, they were in an extremely awkward situation. Those nobles that could read the situation had either gone into business or strived in other fields, and would not continue clinging onto their status to move up the ladder.

Still, it was truly annoying to see them come forward addle-headed, except he wasn’t on the Main Planet at the moment, so he couldn’t deal with those nobles for the time being.

Fu Yuanchuan replaced the dried meat with dried fish and said calmly, “Have Shi Kaixin settle it.”

Jun Qingyu was taken aback and asked, “I’ll be going to another galaxy with you, and Shi Kaixin’s not going?”

Previously, it was because he was on the Main Planet but Shi Kaixin wouldn’t stay there forever now that he had left for another galaxy, wouldn’t he?

Fu Yuanchuan said, “He will be with the supplies team for a few days.”

Jun Qingyu tilted his head. This could be because he had to stay and deal with the situation with the nobles, so he didn’t join them this time.

After figuring out the timeline, Jun Qingyu didn’t ask any more questions and sensibly ate dried fish.

The ones he brought this time were relatively large, whether it was dried fish or dried meat, they were nearly the same size as Jun Qingyu.

It was possibly prepared for him when he became big in size.

Jun Qingyu gave it some thought as he bit on his dried fish. When they arrived at the planet where they were stationed, could he appear as he would when he got big in size?

First and foremost, he came in the form of a little mermaid and if he was spotted after he transformed into his human form, wouldn’t it mean an extra person had appeared mysteriously?

It was better not to transform into his human form, he could cover more ground by staying in Fu Yuanchuan’s pocket.

He thought about this matter while he chewed on his dried fish, and after swallowing, he wasn’t looking and was completely immersed in his thoughts; he bit down with a ‘chomp’, it didn’t have the hard texture of dried fish and was a bit soft.

Soft…?

Jun Qingyu looked up at Fu Yuanchuan and found that Fu Yuanchuan was also looking down at him. He subconsciously opened his mouth and let go of him.

Fu Yuanchuan didn’t say anything either and just looked at him like this in silence.

Jun Qingyu blinked at him innocently.

A mermaid’s teeth were outstanding. This bite could break even bones if they were really eager to fight, but Jun Qingyu was in a rush to finish his dried fish, so only a shallow set of tooth marks were left on Fu Yuanchuan’s hand, and there was no sign of bleeding.

After some consideration, Jun Qingyu leaned forward and blew on it lightly, “All right, it won’t hurt anymore.”

Fu Yuanchuan lifted up the little fish’s long hair around his cheeks with his fingertips, folded it and then lightly touched his face with the ends of his hair wrapped around, “Do you still want to eat?”

“No.” With the size of a little mermaid, he couldn’t eat much and he wasn’t really that hungry per se.

Fu Yuanchuan picked up the dried fish and put it back into the box upon hearing that. After cleaning his hand with mist, he held up the little fish.

Jun Qingyu was familiar with his movements and found a comfortable place to nestle in Fu Yuanchuan’s hands. Even if he hadn’t become a little fish for a while, he could grow accustomed to it very quickly.

However, as soon as he curled up, Fu Yuanchuan’s hand rested on his fishtail.

Jun Qingyu tilted his head blankly and stretched out along his strength, “Mmm…”

With his fingertips massaging lightly on his lower back and fishtail, Jun Qingyu stretched out his waist with his tail wrapped around Fu Yuanchuan’s wrist, unintentionally rubbing again it.

Though the velocity of the mecha was extremely fast, they could not feel even the slightest of tremors while sitting in the compartment. If it weren’t for watching the interstellar scenery outside flashing backwards and occasionally passing by a planet, he might not even feel that the mecha was moving forward.

Jun Qingyu was drowsy in Fu Yuanchuan’s palm and his fishtail hung down, touching his wrist, flicking it lightly from time to time.

Although he had just woken up, it wasn’t so much of how sleepy he was. Rather, the quiet atmosphere combined with the soothing massage, which made this environment conducive for sleeping.

At this time, the smooth-flying mecha suddenly shook, as if it had rapidly lost aptitude and then quickly flew to the aptitude before the fall. This movement caused Jun Qingyu to immediately wake up from his sleepiness.

""

Before he could ask, Fu Yuanchuan took the frightened little fish up and kissed him on the cheek, “It’s okay, it’s nothing more than just avoiding hidden obstacles.”

The interstellar space air route was rapidly changing and the route would be kept as clean as possible without other substances, but there are always exceptions to everything, there were some special substances that would not be detected.

However, those that could travel in interstellar space–whether it was a mecha or a battleship–had emergency obstacle avoidance functions. Regardless of the size of the hidden obstacle, the possibility of an accident after running into one was unlikely.

Jun Qingyu sat up, leaning on his fingers, and saw mecha figures appearing on the upper left corner of the screen.

Several subordinates should have surrounded them from behind.

Feeling a sense of urgency, Jun Qingyu asked, “Are you going to do a hyperspace jump in the galaxy?”

“Correct.” Fu Yuanchuan placed the little fish back on the soft cushion, “Sit tight.”

Jun Qingyu propped himself up on the cushion with one hand and turned his head to look back outside. It was so dark that he couldn’t see clearly what was there.

‘Beep! Autopilot has been turned off.’

‘Hyperspace jump is ready.’

‘Risk value detected: 5.’

‘You may start jumping.’

……

The moment the mechanical voice ceased, Fu Yuanchuan manoeuvred the mecha into the expanse of darkness before him.

It was a completely different feeling to do a hyperspace jump in a battleship than in a mecha. A battleship was too stable and one wouldn’t even notice whether a jump was done when staying inside.

A mecha was relatively smaller and the sensation when jumping was more apparent.

The tip of his tail that hung on the edge would naturally swag along with the movement of the mecha, but the small soft cushion placed on the console remained firmly in place and showed no signs of slipping.

The period of the hyperspace jump was long and Jun QIngyu turned around to look at Fu Yuanchuan when he got tired of looking at it.

His line of sight meticulously captured Fu Yuanchuan’s appearance. Previously, he looked at him with a smile. In contrast, he was very serious while operating a mecha.

Fu Yuanchuan was dressed in a crisply pressed Imperial Military Uniform. His gaze swept across his collar and he felt that it would be pleasing to the eye if it was unbuttoned.

While he looked intently, he heard a voice in my ear, “Does it look good?”

Jun Qingyu nodded, and soon after, he was stupefied. When he looked back outside, there were already many specks of stars–the hyperjump should have ended.

The steering of the mecha reverted back to autopilot.

Jun Qingyu arched his eyes and beckoned him to lean over.

Fu Yuanchuan leaned over and was about to speak when the little mermaid raised his head and gave him a kiss.

“You look great wearing the Imperial Military Uniform.”

Fu Yuanchuan’s eyes darkened slightly, “I’ll wear it just for you next time.”

“Hmm?”

Just for me?

Jun Qingyu felt that this was ambiguous.

Before he could ask what was going on, the screen showed that someone was trying to establish a link.

‘A connection request was received from DC-10 Imperial Military Mecha, do you wish to connect?’

“Connect.”

‘Affirmative, linking in progress…Connected successfully.’

Yu Zhi appeared on the screen and said solemnly, “Reporting in Marshal, the inspection of the five accompanying mechas has been completed, and there are no abnormalities in the results.”

“Keep moving.”

""

“Yes sir!” The moment the communication was switched off, Yu Zhi lowered his head and caught a glimpse of a jarring pale golden…mermaid on the console?!

The entire console was of the same colour. Except for a few buttons with special functions that would appear in a different colour, it was all the same.

The appearance of pale gold in an expanse of the same colour was very conspicuous.

Before he could take a closer look, the screen disappeared. Yu Zhi was startled for a moment, thought no further of it, and began to prepare for the next jump.

Jun Qingyu stayed in Fu Yuanchuan’s pocket when he disembarked the mecha.

In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, Jun Qingyu didn’t even stick his head out.

Fu Yuanchuan didn’t tarry and went all the way back to the lounge.

Jun Qingyu was about to speak when he heard the door open, but before he could say a word, Fu Yuanchuan took him out of his pocket and put him into the fish tank.

“…?”

The tip of his tail instinctively curled up as soon as it came into contact with water. Although Jun Qingyu remained afloat and did not sink, he was a little perplexed as to why a fish tank was present there.

It was a far cry from the many fish tanks with shell beds at home.

Jun Qingyu leaned on the edge of the fish tank and asked, “Why is there a fish tank in your lounge?”

Fu Yuanchuan sprinkled some powder that was beneficial to mermaids into the water, “I notified someone on this side to prepare it on my way here.”

Perhaps it was in consideration that he could not become a human being here, so he prepared a fish tank. Jun Qingyu beamed as he said, “I thought you wanted to bring me here early in the morning.”

Even so, to be able to manage everything so effortlessly and make it appear as though everything had been planned in advance; in fact, preparations took ages and were only put into action today.

“Um.”

“Eh?”

Fu Yuanchuan had indeed made preparations early in the morning, “I wanted to wait for you to come over. There’s no harm in you coming over when the Federation retreats.”

The war was tense before, but the Federation withdrew after a short period of stalemate and now that the Federation was experiencing some internal issues, they were preoccupied with themselves.

It made sense for the little fish to come over when this area was secure.

Simply put, the little fish was tied up in mechas and experiments, and it just so happened that Fu Yuanchuan brought him here when he returned this time.

Jun Qingyu knitted his brows, he was a little hesitant to accept this as the truth. “The Federation came in with a lot of vigour, and instead of taking down a galaxy, they lost the planet they stole from the Empire. Would they leave just like that now?”

Interstellar wars consumed mainly fuel from battleships and damage to mechas from battles. Did they have too much money to burn?

Running over to demonstrate and then running away again was strange enough.
